About Water.org

1 in 4 people around the world lack access to safe water and 2 in 5 people don't have access to a safe toilet. We are working every day to change this. We are Water.org. We're here to bring water and sanitation to the world. We want to make it safe, accessible, and cost-effective because we believe that water is the way to empower a bright future that we can all share in, worldwide. We are an international nonprofit organization based in Kansas City, Missouri that has positively transformed millions of lives around the world through access to safe water and sanitation. Founded by Gary White and Matt Damon, we pioneer market-driven financial solutions to the global water crisis. For more than 30 years, we've been providing women hope, children health and families a bright future.

Join Water.org as a Revenue Analyst, Grants & Financial Planning and help build impactful partnerships that drive transformative change in water and sanitation.

What You'll Do

As Revenue Analyst, you'll serve as the financial backbone connecting Water.org's fundraising, finance, and program teams — ensuring every grant dollar is tracked, reported, and allocated in ways that keep clean water and sanitation solutions flowing to the families who need them most. From building donor proposal budgets to managing the full lifecycle of grant spending, your work directly protects the resources that make Water.org's mission possible.

•     Grant Budget Development: Build comprehensive donor proposal budgets and lead financial reporting across the full grant lifecycle, ensuring alignment with donor guidelines and organizational priorities.

•     Cost Allocation & Funding Map Management: Manage how grant revenues and expenses are matched and tracked through Water.org's funding map, maximizing fiscal sustainability and informing long-term financial strategy.

•     Compliance & Audit Support: Conduct monthly grant expense reviews, oversee audit preparation, and ensure rigorous adherence to donor restrictions and internal financial policies.

•     Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as a financial liaison across Revenue, FP&A, Accounting, and Global Program teams — translating complex grant structures into clear guidance on budgets, coding, and cost categories.

•     Process & Systems Improvement: Identify workflow efficiencies, leverage financial systems and AI tools to sharpen data integrity, and build technical solutions that strengthen how Water.org manages its grant portfolio.

Requirements

What Makes You a Great Fit

•     Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, and/or equivalent relevant work experience.

•     Four or more years of financial management experience, including performing financial analysis of budgets, forecasts, planning, reporting and accounting.

•     Strong understanding of grant financial principles and administration.

•     Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

•     Hands-on experience building and managing grant budgets, with solid foundational accounting knowledge including comfort with debits/credits, reconciliations, and net asset schedules.

•     Advanced Excel proficiency, with demonstrated ability to independently build and troubleshoot complex financial analyses and models across large datasets.
