Job Title: Sales Agronomist
Location: Central & Western Uganda (Field-Based)
Experience: 3 – 5 Years
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field
Reports To: General Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Agronomist to drive sales, provide agronomic support, and build strong relationships with farmers and agribusinesses in Central and Western Uganda. This is a field-based role, requiring extensive travel to engage with clients, conduct on-farm trials, and promote agricultural solutions that enhance productivity and profitability. The Sales Agronomist will report directly to the General Manager and play a key role in achieving business growth targets.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and develop a strong customer base of farmers, cooperatives, and agribusinesses.
  • Promote and sell seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other agricultural inputs to meet client needs.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct field visits and product demonstrations to showcase effectiveness.

Technical Advisory & Support

  • Provide expert agronomic advice on crop nutrition, soil management, pest and disease control.
  • Conduct on-farm trials and recommend best practices to improve yields.
  • Offer after-sales support to ensure correct product application and maximum benefits.

Market Research & Reporting

  • Gather market intelligence on competitor products, industry trends, and customer needs.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales performance and customer feedback.
  • Work closely with the marketing and technical teams to develop sales strategies.


Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
3 – 5 years of experience in agronomy, agricultural sales, or technical advisory roles.
Strong knowledge of crop production, soil health, and agro-inputs.
Proven sales experience, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel extensively within Central and Western Uganda
