How do we do sales at Kenko?
At Kenko, we don’t pitch products — we start real conversations. Our approach is rooted in genuine curiosity and a deep desire to understand our clients' world. We listen before we speak, connect before we sell, and guide rather than push. By blending empathy with insight, we help people make decisions they feel confident about. This isn’t transactional — it’s relationship-driven, story-led, and built for the long haul. If that’s how you see sales, you’ll thrive with us.
Please note: this role is based only in the United States.
The Role
- As an Outbound Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will play a critical role in generating new business opportunities and pipeline for Kenko by identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential customers—many of whom may not be actively searching for a solution. You’ll create demand where none exists by connecting with business owners, building top-of-funnel leads, and setting qualified meetings for our Account Executives. You’ll also drive referrals, engage local partners, and attend or host events in your community to kickstart the flywheel and grow Kenko’s brand awareness in your territory.
- This role requires resilience, creativity, and laser focus in the face of rejection. Success comes from your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, think strategically, and personalize your outreach. Join a team driven by community-first values—help local wellness businesses thrive while enjoying shared purpose and connection. If you're passionate about sales and energized by building something from the ground up, this role is for you. This is a foundational role with opportunities to grow into Account Executive or team leadership positions as we scale—ideal for someone looking to build a long-term sales career at Kenko.
What You Will Do
- Master Kenko’s Product & Value: Become an expert in Kenko’s platform and how it supports fitness and wellness businesses—from AI assistants and member experience to marketing and back-office operations. You’ll quickly articulate our value to busy decision-makers.
- Prospect & Engage: Research and break into cold accounts using a creative mix of outreach—cold calls, personalized emails, social media (e.g., Instagram, Facebook), and referrals.
- Generate Pipeline: Schedule high-quality, qualified demos for Account Executives.
- Meet & Exceed Goals: Consistently hit (and surpass) daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs that drive Kenko’s growth.
- Leverage AI Tools: Use AI-driven platforms (e.g., Outreach, Gong, ChatGPT) to research accounts, personalize messaging at scale, and optimize engagement.
- Build Local Presence: Represent Kenko at events, networking meetups, and community programs to increase visibility and generate leads.
- Maintain Data Hygiene: Keep accurate records of outreach, lead status, and interactions in Hubspot.
What You Need to Succeed
- 1+ year of outbound sales experience (SDR/BDR/field sales or internship) with a track record of creating your own pipeline.
- Real passion for fitness + wellness, and curiosity about how studios actually run and where they struggle.
- Fitness Insider: Bonus if you’ve been behind the front desk or in the studio trenches and understand how client experience + the right software can make or break a business (extra props for hands-on experience with Mindbody, Marianatek, or Momence).
- Self-starter energy with the confidence to build momentum without warm leads or hand-holding.
- Grit, resilience, and persistence—you treat rejection as fuel and keep moving the conversation forward.
- Strong communicator who can connect quickly and clearly across phone, email, video, and social.
- Organized and detail-oriented, keeping HubSpot, Nooks, and daily tasks tight, accurate, and up to date.
- Coachable, curious, and growth-minded, always looking to level up your sales skills.
- Comfortable with modern sales + AI tools like HubSpot, Nooks, Zoom, Fireflies, or similar
