  • Stay informed on fluid dynamics, piping system software advancements, and regulatory requirements impacting our clients.
  • Track and report all sales engineering activities in CRM for forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Attend conferences, trade shows, and industry events as needed to represent PIPE FLOW and generate market insights.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Technical Sales, or Pre-Sales role or 3+ years of practical experience using PIPE FLOW, fluid dynamics, or similar piping system design software.
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, hydraulic modeling, and piping system design principles.
  • Proven ability to deliver technical product demonstrations and articulate complex solutions in a business-focused manner.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and standard business productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to travel as required for client meetings, training, and industry events.

Preferences

  • Experience selling or supporting piping system design, fluid flow analysis tools, or engineering simulation software.
  • Familiarity with value-based selling techniques and consultative sales processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing plant design, process engineering, or energy systems.
  • Prior experience in an international or mid-market software organization in a pre-sales capacity.
  • Ability to design and deliver impactful technical presentations tailored to engineering leadership and decision-makers.
  • Awareness of AI-driven engineering solutions and automation trends in process industries.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
