The Opportunity

As a Sales Engineer on the Superhuman Education team, you will be a key partner to Account Executives working with higher education institutions—helping colleges, universities, and K-12 organizations understand how Superhuman can support student success, faculty productivity, and institutional writing standards. You’ll play a central role in building a successful and scalable sales motion in the education market, from first demo to signed deal and expansion.

In this role, you will:

  • Support Account Executives in identifying prospects' needs and aligning Superhuman’s solutions to the strategic goals of higher education and K-12 institutions

  • Prepare and deliver tailored demos for Higher Education audiences—showcasing Superhuman’s writing assistance, tone detection, and AI capabilities in academic and administrative contexts

  • Run successful POCs (proofs of concept) that build customer confidence and accelerate deal close

  • Interface with security and IT stakeholders to articulate Superhuman’s security posture and navigate technical reviews

  • Explain integration capabilities—including APIs, MCPs, and agentic AI workflows—to technical buyers and decision-makers

  • Complete RFPs and respond to technical questionnaires for competitive opportunities

  • Collaborate with peers to continuously improve SE processes, demo assets, and POC frameworks

  • Contribute to team knowledge through documentation, mentorship, and cross-functional enablement within the Higher Education segment

Qualifications
  • Has 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or technical pre-sales role in a SaaS environment

  • Has previous experience selling into higher education institutions (colleges, universities, or K-12)

  • Has familiarity with agentic AI concepts, MCP (Model Context Protocol), or API-based integrations—able to speak credibly about modern AI architectures with technical buyers

  • Is passionate about working with prospects and customers to find solutions and close deals

  • Works effectively with Security and IT stakeholders to meet technical requirements and build client confidence

  • Applies an understanding of SaaS business models to identify and shape solutions; uses data to tell a compelling value story

  • Communicates effectively across technical and executive audiences

  • Is willing to travel occasionally to visit prospective clients and attend industry events (~25% travel)

  • Has a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance, proactively manages tasks and priorities across multiple projects, analyzes and executes work efficiently, collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrives in fast-paced, results-driven environments.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
