What You'll Do:

Billtrust is seeking an experienced “hunter” to lead sales efforts in identifying, qualifying, and closing new logo customers in the Business Services vertical. You will manage complex sales cycles for our best-in-class, SaaS order-to-cash solutions. Business Services companies—such as staffing agencies, facilities management firms, and outsourced service providers—often manage high-volume, project-based billing with complex client agreements, time-based invoicing, and labor-heavy accounts receivable processes.

You’ll identify cost-saving opportunities and demonstrate to prospects how our cloud-based solutions streamline their invoicing, speed up payments, reduce days sales outstanding (DSO), and enable scalable AR automation. With over a decade of consistent growth, you’ll have the opportunity to expand the footprint of our market-leading software and integrated payment processing solutions across this dynamic and growing vertical.

  • Identify and prospect potential clients in the business services sector through cold calling, industry networking, referrals, and online platforms.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations that showcase how Billtrust can solve billing, reconciliation, and payment challenges unique to service-based businesses.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with finance, operations, and procurement leaders within target organizations—often navigating multiple departments and decentralized billing structures.
  • Collaborate with the pre-sales team to create customized proposals aligned to specific service delivery models (e.g., hourly billing, project-based contracts, recurring maintenance schedules).
  • Work closely with Marketing, Sales Development, and Sales Ops to generate pipeline and drive qualified opportunities forward.
  • Provide feedback to Product, Implementation, and Professional Services teams to enhance the platform based on vertical-specific needs such as invoice customization, customer portals, or client self-service preferences.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Proven success in selling software to VP and C-Level executives, with a consistent track record of meeting or exceeding quota—5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Direct experience in or selling into Business Services industries (e.g., staffing, facilities, outsourced services, legal services, consulting, or IT services) is strongly preferred.
  • Prior Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) experience; background in Payments, AR, AP, ERP, or FinTech is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles with deal sizes over $150K in ARR.
  • Understanding of multi-stakeholder sales environments and experience with structured sales methodologies such as Solution Selling, Sandler, or Miller Heiman.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills—confident in delivering both in-person and remote demos.
  • Detail-oriented with strong discovery and active listening capabilities to align solutions to service models and customer pain points.
  • Technical curiosity, continuous learning mindset, and a genuine interest in the AR and payments ecosystem.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and thrive in a distributed, collaborative sales environment.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com or similar CRM tools.
  • Comfortable with 15–20% travel, typically 2 customer meetings per month.

Compensation:
The expected base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000 annually.
Compensation may vary depending on qualifications, experience, competencies, and location. Some roles may also qualify for additional incentives such as equity, commissions, or performance-based bonuses. Final details will be shared by our Talent Acquisition team during the interview process.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
