PitchBook's SMB Market Development team drives growth through opportunity creation for our new business organization. Our market development representatives are the first point of contact for new business opportunities and begin the sales cycle that culminates in new client acquisition. 

PitchBook's Manager, Market Development manages a team of Small Medium Business (SMB) Market Development Representatives. They are responsible for hiring and onboarding new Market Development Professionals, overseeing performance for onboarding reps., supporting ongoing training and development, and address day to day needs. This role is responsible for building high performing, value-based sales development professionals with an emphasis on ongoing professional development.  

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of onboarding Market Development Representatives to achieve and exceed sales goals
  • Maintain a regular cadence of 1:1s with each team member to review and discuss performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support career development
  • Set, document, and measure OKRs and goals through monitoring lead flow, daily activities and quality of opportunities created
  • Report on weekly and monthly relevant sales metrics in Salesforce and own responsibility for team results
  • Onboarding, coach, and train Market Development Representatives on effective inbound opportunity creation process
  • Facilitate training sessions for the team to develop sales competencies and product knowledge.
  • Facilitate new team member onboarding and trainings; collaborating with the People Development team as needed to update trainings
  • Regularly audit and coach Market Development Representatives' outreach effort for quality and completeness
  • Partner with internal stakeholders for communication and implementation of new workflows, trainings, and tools
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors 
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of sales or lead development experience
  • 1+ years in a sales manager, team lead, or formal mentor capacity focusing on onboarding and development
  • Experience with tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, and LeanData/BookIt
  • Possess strong negotiation skills and proven ability to effectively close leads
  • Interest in financial markets or services, particularly private capital markets
  • Strong coaching and career development acumen
  • Upholds organizational expectations of professionalism for both internal and external interactions
  • Self-motivated, persistent, goal-oriented attitude and can work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to operate with a strong sense of urgency and deliver results
  • Highly curious with a positive attitude
  • Superior organization; able to effectively manage a large team
  • High emotional intelligence, able to build trust with a diverse group of employees and stakeholders
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Compensation

  • Annual base salary: $81,000-$81,000
  • Annual on target variable commission of fully ramped representative meeting expectations: $60,000
  • PitchBook currently has no cap on commission and commission is determined by individual performance

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
