Summary

The Senior Analyst, Strategy & Analytics is a hands-on analytics role within Cresa’s Global Portfolio Solutions (GPS) group. Strategy & Analytics turns labor, demographic, market and cost data into clear, defensible real estate recommendations, including site rankings, market screeners, total cost models, drive-time and commute studies, psychographic segmentation and portfolio consolidation analyses. Our work helps advisors win new business and helps clients defend decisions to their boards and investors.

The key goal for this role is to own analytics projects end to end: scope work directly with advisors, build the analysis, and turn it into a story a client executive can act on. This person will also help make the team faster by turning repeat work into templates, automations and AI-assisted workflows. This is a remote position.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Deliver location and market analyses. Build strategic site rankings, market comparison screeners, total cost models, commute and drive-time studies, labor market assessments and portfolio consolidation analyses, typically on timelines of three days to three weeks.
  • Own projects end to end. Scope requests with advisors, define the right approach and data, build and QA the model, and deliver client-ready outputs while managing several engagements at once.
  • Support pursuits at the point of sale. Produce rapid location analytics, demos and market assessments that help advisors open doors and differentiate Cresa in competitive pitches.
  • Tell the story. Turn complex analysis into clear visuals and recommendations in Tableau and PowerPoint, and present alongside advisors to client stakeholders, typically by video, when needed.
  • Make the work repeatable. Build reusable Alteryx workflows, Tableau templates and standard deliverables so common requests take less time and cost less to deliver.
  • Leverage AI. Use AI tools daily to accelerate research, data preparation, code, QA and first-draft narratives, with sound judgment about verification and client confidentiality, and share what works with the team.
  • Steward our data. Maintain data quality and documentation across labor, demographic, geospatial and cost data sources, and help evaluate new data partners.
  • Grow the bench. Mentor analysts and interns as the team grows, and contribute case studies and examples for internal marketing to advisors.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong working knowledge of Esri ArcGIS, Alteryx and Tableau, and advanced Excel
  • Experience with labor market data, ideally Lightcast
  • Understanding of commercial real estate fundamentals: occupancy cost and lease economics, market metrics such as rents and vacancy, the site selection process, and how real estate decisions get made
  • Demonstrated AI fluency: able to show real examples of using AI tools to work faster or better, and know where their output needs checking
  • Excellent written, visual and verbal communication skills, including experience developing executive-level presentations
  • Comfort working directly with senior advisors and client executives
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently in a remote environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy

Preferred:

  • Healthcare market or utilization analytics experience
  • SQL or Python for data preparation and automation
  • Experience with Placer.ai, Experian Mosaic, CoStar or parcel data
  • Exposure to economic incentives, workforce planning or industrial / distribution network analysis
  • Esri technical certification; CoreNet Global involvement
  • Experience building automated or AI-assisted analytics workflows

Technology and data platforms:

Lightcast, Esri ArcGIS Pro / Online, ArcGIS Business Analyst, Alteryx, Tableau, Moody’s, Experian Mosaic, Placer.ai, RSMeans, Microsoft Office Suite, and AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in geography/GIS, economics, urban planning, real estate, finance, data analytics or a related field
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in location strategy, site selection, labor analytics, market research or analytics consulting; candidates with 3 to 4 years may be considered at the Senior Analyst level
  • Commercial real estate or corporate occupier experience strongly preferred

What success looks like in the first year

  • Within 90 days, independently delivering the team’s core location and market analyses
  • Reusable templates or workflows in place that measurably shorten turnaround on the most common requests
  • A trusted point of contact for a set of advisors, who come to you early in their pursuits
  • At least two case studies contributed that show advisors what Strategy & Analytics can do

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
