We are looking for a Senior Business Operations Analyst, Infrastructure Economics who is passionate about turning infrastructure investment into a durable competitive advantage.

As a Senior Business Operations Analyst, Infrastructure Planning and Operational Excellence at DigitalOcean, you will join a newly formed Business Operations & Strategy function within Physical Infrastructure, reporting to the VP, Capacity & Business Operations. You'll drive strategic planning, capital allocation, and investment decisions that enable scalable infrastructure growth while maximizing financial return and operational efficiency, partnering closely with Finance, Data Center Operations, and Product.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with Finance to build and maintain forward-looking financial models for infrastructure investments to support capital allocation decisions across the global data center footprint
  • Develop and own infrastructure unit economics - DC site effectiveness and profitability analytics, including power utilization, internal vs. external usage mix, and revenue-generating vs. non-revenue consumption

  • Experience partnering with Finance teams on capital planning, budgeting, or investment analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and clear recommendations
  • Comfort operating without an established playbook, building processes and frameworks from scratch
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to senior and executive stakeholders
  • Experience with competitive benchmarking or market analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA a plus
  • Familiarity with data center or cloud infrastructure economics (power, space, hardware refresh cycles) preferred

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
