Senior Cloud Architect, Enterprise Technology

West Monroe is hiring a Senior Cloud Architect to join our growing Enterprise Technology practice and lead cross-functional teams in the design, engineering, and implementation of cloud & IT infrastructure solutions. We’re looking for a technology leader who would be excited to work with modern IT services and expand their skillset into emerging areas while partnering with clients across various industries: Financial Services, Healthcare, High Tech, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with WM consulting teams and client stakeholders to lead the architecture of highly available cloud & infrastructure ecosystems, with the goal of improving technical operations and overall business performance
- Assess current state processes and IT environments, interview client stakeholders, gather and define requirements, make viable recommendations, and implement cutting-edge solutions
- Establish and enforce cloud architecture standards, best practices, and governance to ensure secure, compliant, and consistent solutions.
- Develop solution architecture designs for Cloud landing zone(s) and deployment of client workloads on the designed landing zone(s)
- Develop migration plans and strategies to optimize or enhance cloud services, IT infrastructure systems, networking capabilities, and/or security posture
- Act as technical lead and make key decisions regarding project direction, including technology/cloud service selections, team member workstreams, and methodology
- Lead deep architecture discussions and design exercises to develop complex solutions for cloud deployment
- Lead the design and deployment of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, and advanced cloud cost management strategies to drive operational excellence and efficiency.
- Act as career advisor/mentor and coach junior consultants on technical best practices, professional development, and client engagement
- Seek out new client engagements and contribute to Enterprise Tech business/practice development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required
- Consulting firm/industry experience preferred
- 10-15+ years of experience in an IT architecture/lead role covering areas such as public cloud computing (Azure, AWS), automating/scripting, Windows/Linux systems, servers and virtualization, networking, security, storage/data center
- Experience leading ‘on-prem to cloud’ migration projects into AWS, Azure, or GCP ecosystems
- Excellent communication, team lead, and project management skills in fast paced, dynamic environments
- Willingness to travel for client engagements (30 to 50% travel)
- Bonus: Microsoft365, Compliance standards (ISO, PCI, NIST, HIPAA), business development, client management, practice development, Professional level cloud certifications
Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Information on our competitive total rewards package, including our bonus structure and benefits is here. Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Eligibility for ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available upon hire date.
