Are you a storyteller at heart who wants to help shape the conversation about the future of work? Atlassian is looking for an experienced communications professional to lead the external PR strategy for our Teamwork Collection-a powerful combination of apps, including Jira, Confluence, Loom, and Rovo teamwork agents, that helps every team collaborate better.
This is a highly visible role at the intersection of product innovation and cultural transformation. You'll develop and drive strategic narratives about how Atlassian is reimagining teamwork and how AI is fundamentally changing how we collaborate, make decisions, and build products. We're not here for AI theater. We're here to show what useful, human-AI collaboration looks like in practice.
You'll own the comms strategy across product and thought leadership moments and work with internal teams and agency partners to raise awareness of Atlassian's Teamwork Collection and how it helps every kind of team work better together.
You'll be part of the product communications team within the marketing organization and report to the Senior Communications & Strategy Manager, who is based in the U.S.
Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
  • Own and lead the PR strategy for Atlassian's Teamwork Collection, bringing together product and thought leadership storytelling across Jira, Confluence, Loom, and Rovo teamwork agents.
  • Be the driving force behind how we talk about AI in the context of teamwork, moving beyond hype to highlight real-world use cases that matter to knowledge workers.
  • Collaborate with product marketing, brand, and corporate communications to build integrated, global storytelling moments that align with Atlassian's broader strategy and values.
  • Pitch and place compelling stories with top-tier tech, business, and AI media outlets, leveraging your instincts for what will resonate with journalists.
  • Support product launches, major customer moments, and key brand activations with messaging, media strategy, and rapid response coordination.
  • Analyze coverage, track results, and use data to continually refine messaging and media outreach.

On your first day, we'd love you to have:
  • 6+ years of experience in communications, preferably in B2B tech or enterprise software, with a strong portfolio of product PR and thought leadership work.
  • Familiarity with developer, IT, or productivity tools, and curiosity about how AI is reshaping the way teams work.
  • Strong relationships with business and tech media, especially reporters focused on the future of work, AI, or collaboration.
  • Proven success running high-impact campaigns-from narrative development through to coverage and measurement.
  • Exceptional writing and editing chops, with a nose for a story and the ability to craft messaging that's clear, compelling, and human.
  • Comfort working across time zones and cross-functional teams in a fast-moving, async-first environment.
  • A low-ego, high-hustle attitude and a willingness to roll up your sleeves.

More about our team
Everything we do on the communications team is driven by business impact. We work collaboratively and cross-functionally, but every project has one owner who is empowered as the key decision maker. We have a distributed team united by our shared goals. We determine success metrics up front and restlessly drive towards them. We strive for transparency and awareness in everything we do, but we are comfortable not knowing the details of everything. We embrace our "open company, no bullshit" value and have the grit to tell it like it is. We're good listeners. We move really fast. We take risks and fail (which is OK!). We take away vital lessons to ensure we don't repeat the same mistakes again. We play as a team.
Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $148,500 - $193,875
Zone B: $134,100 - $175,075
Zone C: $123,300 - $160,975
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
Please visit go.atlassian.com/payzones for more information on which locations are included in each of our geographic pay zones. However, please confirm the zone for your specific location with your recruiter.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
