Overview

On the Microsoft Communications team, you’ll join a group of professionals focused on telling the stories that help people fall in love with Microsoft, the things we make and the impact we have in the world.

The Copilot & Experiences News team is looking for a Senior Communications Manager to join our scrappy, fast-moving group at the center of Microsoft’s Copilot story. This is a generalist role for a modern communicator who thrives on variety. The right person will own communications for a portfolio of AI experiences while also helping tell the broader Copilot story as a core member of the news team. They’ll lead product news, rollouts and reactive issues for their products, and jump in on Copilot launches, executive storytelling and emerging priorities as the business evolves. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable with proactive storytelling and rapid reactive response, quick to get up to speed on new products, and able to explain the technically complex in a way that is clear, credible and human. Core to this role is comfort with ambiguity: priorities will shift as Copilot evolves, and we need someone who is energized by jumping in where they can have the most impact, while navigating a large, global organization.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

  • Support senior leaders with media prep, executive messaging, and high-profile speaking opportunities.
  • Create and maintain compelling content, including announcements, FAQs, reactive statements and briefing materials.

  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
