Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist – Forecasting & AI Development to join our Forecasting Center of Excellence, focused on advancing labor and financial planning through state-of-the-art analytics. This role will own and evolve key forecasting assets, applying modern statistical, machine learning, and AI-driven approaches to improve accuracy, scalability, and business value.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in time series forecasting, including experience with ensemble and hierarchical methods, and is passionate about integrating AI into forecasting workflows such as feature engineering, exploratory data analysis, and model development. This role will play a critical part in shaping next-generation forecasting capabilities while driving measurable impact across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in data science, forecasting, or a related quantitative field
- Strong expertise in time series forecasting methods, including statistical and machine learning approaches
- Experience with ensemble modeling techniques and model evaluation strategies
- Proven experience with hierarchical or multi-level forecasting
- Strong programming skills in Python (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, statsmodels, or similar libraries)
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques to forecasting workflows, including feature engineering and exploratory data analysis
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with foundation models or AI-assisted forecasting techniques
- Background in labor, demand, or financial forecasting domains
- Familiarity with deep learning approaches for time series (e.g., LSTM, transformers)
- Experience with MLOps practices, including model deployment and monitoring
- Knowledge of optimization techniques and their interaction with forecasting outputs
- Experience contributing to or working within a Center of Excellence or shared analytics function
- Track record of mentoring or leading other data scientists
Education
- Master’s degree or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
- Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree

The typical pay range for this role is:
$111,240.00 - $222,480.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
