The Senior DevOps Engineer builds and maintains infrastructure, delivery automation, and observability tools, optimizing performance and security while collaborating with development teams.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure, delivery automation and observability tools powering the 1inch platform and the future of DeFi. You will work as part of a team that designs, builds, and manages cloud infrastructure — predominantly on AWS, with some private data centre environments where practical. You will work closely with development teams across the business, enabling them to build, deliver, and run their services with confidence. Your team acts as a platform and enabler: championing observability, promoting engineering best practices, and driving innovation — while optimising infrastructure for cost, performance, and reliability. We are looking for a proactive and disciplined engineer who thrives on ownership and continuous improvement. You treat infrastructure as a product, thinking in terms of scalability, performance, maintainability, and developer experience. You balance speed with stability, prioritise work that adds the most value, automate away repetitive work, and help other teams raise their game. Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across teams, a strong sense of accountability, intellectual curiosity, and a security-first mindset are all essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows across a diverse set of engineering teams (Blockchain, Frontend, Backend, iOS, Android, QA).
- Own observability — monitoring, alerting, logging — and support development teams in instrumenting their services.
- Participate in incident response and drive post-incident reviews and actions.
- Optimise infrastructure for security, cost, performance and reliability.
- Partner with engineering teams on new product launches and innovative DeFi solutions.
Job Requirements:
- Strong Kubernetes experience across the ecosystem (Helm, Istio, Kustomize) and hands-on AWS (EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, ElastiCache, MSK).
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and GitOps tooling (GitHub Actions, Flux CD or similar).
- Hands-on experience with secrets and access management (HashiCorp Vault or similar, RBAC, least-privilege).
- Solid understanding of the SRE framework — SLIs, SLOs, error budgets — and experience setting up observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, VictoriaMetrics or similar).
- Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or similar.
- Working knowledge of edge computing and CDN (CloudFront, Cloudflare, WAF, caching).
- Proven on-call and incident response experience.
- Clear communicator, collaborative by nature, comfortable in a distributed international team.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Working knowledge in one or more programming languages and tooling ecosystems - Go, Node.JS, Python.
- Experience working with blockchain, smart contracts, decentralised finance (DeFi).
