The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Senior Digital Design Engineer to join our dynamic hardware engineering team in Rochester, NY. In this role you will be instrumental in the design, development, integration, sustainment, and testing of cutting-edge digital electronic components across our diverse product line. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in all phases of product development, from design and schematic capture to PCB layout and firmware development. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in both team and individual settings. U.S. Citizenship is required, and candidates must be willing and able to obtain a security clearance.
Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, and develop; assist in commercialization
  • Build prototypes, products, and systems for testing; set up and conduct laboratory simulations
  • Design interfaces for our products, ensuring proper integration and functionality
  • Conduct and/or participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, codes, and other tasks involved in product development
  • Support engineering design reviews with peers, including Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), and Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)
  • Author interface control documents for systems and subsystems
  • Create schematics and BOMs for products
  • Be part of a team to establish system architecture
  • Lead technical execution of electrical engineering principles
  • Assist in generating technical content for white papers to support proposal development as needed


Qualifications:
Required: 

  • Bachelor’s (BS) in Electrical Engineering or a related field with with a minimum of 10 years of experience in digital electronics design
  • Strong understanding of standard engineering processes and terms such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs), System Requirements Documents (SRD), Capability Development Documents (CDDs), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and Customer Acceptance
  • Direct experience in circuit board design, fabrication, and assembly
  • In-depth knowledge of high-speed digital circuits, layouts, and interfaces
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Broad knowledge of digital communication standards and protocols, including USB3.x, Ethernet, PCIe, I2C, and SPI
  • Operating experience with lab equipment such as Logic Analyzers, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes, Protocol Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, and Network Analyzers
  • Excellent organizational, communication and writing skills, with the ability to articulate technical discussions through strategy, implementation, and system & subsystem design

Desired:

  • Masters (MS) in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Developing test summaries to include results, conclusions, and recommendations
  • Experience with electronic exploitation
  • Familiarity with Siemens PADS software for PCB layout design
  • Experience with Hardware Description Languages (HDLs) such as VHDL or Verilog

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$105,100-$231,100
