XBOX Media Solutions is seeking a Senior Director Gaming - Measurement and Insights to lead our gaming-dedicated measurement and insights function.  This leader will lead an organization that includes measurement, insights, and data science to demonstrate the Return on investment (ROI) of gaming to our advertising customers, generate novel insights which highlight the unique power of gaming to advertising, work with game studios and platforms to empirically understand the needs of players as it relates to advertising, and work with internal measurement and product stakeholders to shape the future of advertising measurement for our gaming business.

Starting August 17, 2026, Microsoft Advertising employees who live within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least 3 days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.


Responsibilities
  • Define and execute a unified measurement and insights strategy across sales, marketing, and product stakeholders. 
  • Engage with clients at a senior level across a variety of measurement topics ranging from Media Mix Marketing (MMM) to Multi-touch Attibution (MTA), to shape and defend gaming investments. 
  • Champion customer measurement needs with gaming studios and platforms, in addition to advertising product teams by translating measurement outcomes into product recommendations. 
  • Manage and develop a growing team of researchers and analytics professionals.  
  • Ensure smooth operational rigor and SLAs with stakeholders and internal customers ranging from sales to marketing. 
  • Act as an industry thought leader on the basis of measurement, particularly as it pertains to gaming audiences. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, or related field AND 8+ years experience in data science, research, marketing or business-related roles
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, or related field AND 6+ years experience in data science, research, marketing or business-related roles
    • OR Doctoral Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, or related field AND 5+ years experience in data science, research, marketing or business-related roles.
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, or related field AND 15+ years experience in data science, research, marketing or business-related roles
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, or related field AND 12+ years experience in data science, research, marketing or business-related roles
    • OR Doctorate in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, or related field AND 8+ years experience in data science, research, marketing or business-related roles.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years’ experience leading measurement, research, and/or insights teams in digital advertising 
  • Track record of full funnel measurement knowledge, from brand to performance outcomes, in addition to emerging frontiers of measurement (attention, AI, etc.). 
  • Measurement ecosystem experience – deep knowledge of industry measurement trends, third party tools, and common methodologies (experimentation, causal inference, econometric modeling, etc.). 
  • Proficient primary and secondary research skills, ranging from survey design to rigorous implementation of 3rd party data. 
  • History of building high-performing teams and working across highly matrixed organizations. 
  • Experience as a collaborator who seeks solutions for broader organizational benefit while driving toward own goals. 
  • Experience partnering across Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering to align strategies and deliver measurable results. 
  • Experience in gaming and/or CTV ecosystems.

Market Research M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $155,800 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,400 - $303,600 per year.
