Overview

Microsoft is seeking a Senior Director, Product Marketing - Apps,  a senior product marketing leader to shape the next chapter of business application development. This role will lead the Apps product marketing team, accelerate the growth and broad adoption of Power Apps, and establish a compelling market position for a new AI-native approach to building applications through natural language, generated code, data, and business context. The leader will also provide product marketing direction across the broader Power Platform portfolio, connecting product strategy to clear customer value, differentiated storytelling, and global go-to-market execution.

Responsibilities
  • Own the growth strategy and business performance for Power Apps, identifying the highest-impact opportunities to expand revenue, usage, retention, and market share across all segments and audiences. 
  • Define the category, value proposition, and product story for AI-native application development, partnering closely with Engineering to turn customer needs and market shifts into roadmap priorities, differentiated experiences, technical demos, launches, and value prop. 
  • Lead product marketing for the Power Platform portfolio, creating a coherent strategy across apps, automation, data, agents, governance, and extensibility while preserving clear product-level differentiation. 
  • Partner with Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPs) to run go-to-market spanning campaigns, digital, field and partner activation, sales enablement, flagship events, and executive communications, with clear accountability for measurable outcomes. 
  • Develop deep customer, partner, developer, and competitive insight; translate it into segment priorities, adoption programs, packaging and monetization recommendations. 
  • Lead and develop a high-performing product marketing team and cross-functional community, setting a high bar for customer focus, technical fluency, strategic clarity, execution, and inclusive leadership.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in product marketing, product management or IT
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in product marketing
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years people management experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in product marketing
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 15+ years experience in product marketing
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years people management experience.
  • Experience owning growth, adoption and market outcomes for a large scale cloud, SaaS, developer or business applications portfolio
  • Experience in AI, application platforms, low-code development, data, automation, and governance, with ability to influence senior leaders and translate complexity into clear customer value. 

Product Marketing M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $155,800 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,400 - $303,600 per year.
