  • Work with product managers, data scientists, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Engage directly in incident resolution for difficult and complex problems.
  • Facilitate cross-functional troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and vendor engagement.

Quality & Excellence

  • Improve the quality of output across the team.
  • Provide actionable feedback during systems and code reviews and design reviews.
  • Document designs and team processes to support knowledge sharing.
  • Design key metrics and events for components worked on.
  • Demonstrate accountability for the performance and security of feature work.
  • Follow engineering and security standards and contribute to improving those standards.
  • Simplify, secure, optimize, and remove bottlenecks.
  • Question and defend standards with a curious mindset.

What You Bring

Required Experience

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Technical Skills

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
