What you’ll do 

As a Senior Engineering Manager at Boundless, you will spearhead the integration of cutting-edge AI technologies into our Business product and services development process. You will lead a team of passionate engineers in building and embedding agentic solutions that revolutionize our immigration services, directly impacting thousands of immigrants and hundreds of employers.

Your role will be pivotal in driving the immigration sector's adoption of innovative solutions. This includes not only day-to-day team operations, technical excellence, and strategic planning, but also actively exploring and implementing AI-driven workflows. You will champion the development of intelligent systems that streamline processes, enhance customer experiences, and provide personalized support. Leading with empathy, you'll guide engineers in their careers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning, particularly in the realm of AI and automation. As a key leader in an early-stage company, you will help shape Boundless's engineering culture, with a strong focus on building an exceptional in-office experience that encourages experimentation and the development of groundbreaking agentic solutions.

In this role, you will
  • Directly manage a team of software engineers, including day-to-day operations, goal setting, technical direction, and ensuring quality of deliverables
  • Be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of technical projects
  • Hire, retain, and grow engineers on the team
  • Partner with the product team to build products that directly impact our customers
  • Establish technical quality standards and mechanisms to measure success
  • Provide leadership, including coaching and mentorship, in an innovative and fast-paced start-up environment
  • Lead your team through the dynamic nature of a start-up and the immigration domain
About you
  • A successful track record as a software engineer and a manager of engineers. Has hired, promoted, and performance-managed multiple engineers on your team
  • Excited to lead a hybrid team and committed to building a team around our Seattle HQ
  • Experience architecting and building web applications, with a strong preference for experience in B2B or HR focused domains
  • Experience collaborating with product to build customer-facing software 
  • Flexible, nimble thinking that adapts and evolves to the dynamic nature of a startup and the immigration domain, and the ability to bring others along when plans need to change
  • An empathy for the experience of immigrants and the desire to make a positive impact in the lives of families around the world
  • 10+ years of total experience, with 2+ years of experience directly managing a team of software engineers
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent practical experience

Location

Seattle — the Seattle team is in-office together at least two days per week in Pioneer Square

Compensation

Compensation for this role includes both cash and equity. The starting base salary for this position is typically $160,000-$220,000.  Total compensation offered for this role will be dependent on the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills and abilities as demonstrated in the interview and hiring process. Additionally, Boundless offers its U.S. full-time employees benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401K match, life and AD&D insurance, short-term disability insurance, and commuter benefits.
