About the Role:

To support our growth, we are looking for a manager to lead our Reference and Entity Data Systems team. This group resolves entities across datasets to serve as the single source of truth for all other AlphaSense systems when they reference companies, industries, securities, and other core concepts in the market intelligence domain. The right manager will provide unique, diverse perspectives and bring experience in data feed ingestion, data modeling, and API development. Superior communication and collaboration skills are critical for building relationships and managing expectations across the entire R&D organization.

Who You Are:
  • You have managed engineers with a passion for developing and growing people as they progress in their career journey.
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and leverage agile development principles to consistently deliver results.
  • You are an experienced software engineer who has solved complex engineering problems with an eye towards business results. Even if you aren’t coding regularly, you are a technical thought leader and can provide code review feedback.
  • You are a great communicator who can partner well with your customers, stakeholders, and your team to keep everyone aligned and motivated.
  • You are forward-thinking and able to analyze and anticipate project, technology, and team solutions to ensure successful project delivery.
  • You have a team-first mentality and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to define the technical direction for our products, developing easy-to-use solutions for our customers.
  • You are highly organized. In a dynamic company, with many people doing many things, strong organizational skills—both for yourself and for the team—will be required.
  • You may have experience with Python, Java, GraphQL, and different datastores, including relational, columnar, and graph. Additionally, you have embraced AI tools in your workflows and expect your team to leverage AI in their toolchains and, where appropriate, integrate it into the systems they build.

What You’ll Do:

  • As a technical leader, you’ll manage a growing team of seven engineers distributed across North America and work closely with two product managers.
  • You will hire and mentor a team of top-tier engineers and foster a culture of predictable delivery of secure, reliable systems used by teams around the world. You will help create an environment where everyone feels respected, included, and empowered to contribute.
  • You will work directly with multiple stakeholders, including product managers, other engineering leads, and managers, to ensure we’re building solutions that solve business problems.
  • You will guide the build of robust, well-designed, and effective software that solves complex problems. AlphaSense values technical leaders who can guide architectural and technical decisions and get hands-on as needed.
  • You will contribute to the definition and adoption of software engineering practices. AlphaSense needs engineering managers who will define and shape our team for success as we continue to scale.

For base compensation, we set standard ranges for all roles based on function and level benchmarked against similar stage growth companies and internal comparables. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience/expertise and may vary from the amounts listed below.

You may also be offered a performance-based bonus, equity, and a generous benefits program.
