About the role:

Are you a seasoned Life Insurance industry leader who combines strategic thinking, executive-level client engagement, and a passion for business and technology transformation?

We are looking for a Sr Manager, Business Advisory & Development (Life Insurance) to partner with leading Life Insurance organizations, advise senior executives, shape transformation agendas, and unlock new business opportunities.

In this high-impact role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to client business and technology leaders, helping them navigate industry disruption, modernize operations, enhance customer experience, and accelerate sustainable growth.

You will connect industry insight, business strategy, and technology innovation to develop differentiated solutions that address clients’ most critical priorities.

Working across consulting, sales, solutioning, product, and delivery teams, you will influence client strategy, develop strategic relationships, shape complex opportunities, and help translate business challenges into measurable outcomes.

This is an opportunity for an experienced professional from a leading consulting firm, insurance technology provider, or Life Insurance organization to combine industry expertise, strategic advisory, and commercial leadership.

What You’ll Do
  • Advise senior executives: Build trusted relationships with C-suite and senior business and technology leaders at Life Insurance companies, helping shape strategic priorities and transformation roadmaps.
  • Shape business and technology transformation: Translate client objectives into actionable strategies spanning business models, operating models, digital capabilities, customer experience, and operational performance.
  • Drive strategic growth: Identify opportunities to expand existing relationships, develop new client opportunities, and create sustainable revenue growth across the Life Insurance market.
  • Lead opportunity shaping: Partner with sales and leadership teams to develop account strategies, pursuit plans, compelling value propositions, and differentiated solutions.
  • Connect business strategy with technology innovation: Identify opportunities to leverage AI, data and analytics, cloud, digital platforms, automation, and modern insurance technologies to deliver meaningful business impact.
  • Influence go-to-market strategy: Contribute to industry propositions, market campaigns, executive briefings, strategic partnerships, and client engagement initiatives.
  • Turn market intelligence into action: Anticipate industry trends, competitive shifts, regulatory developments, and changing customer expectations to identify emerging opportunities.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional teams: Bring together consulting, sales, solutioning, product, technology, and delivery stakeholders to develop commercially viable, client-centric solutions.
  • Champion industry thought leadership: Represent the organization in executive discussions, client workshops, industry forums, and market-facing initiatives.
  • Deliver measurable business outcomes: Support pipeline development, strategic pursuits, account expansion, and revenue and margin growth.

What You’ll Bring
  • 15+ years of relevant professional experience, with substantial exposure to the Life Insurance industry across business, consulting, strategy, or technology.
  • At least 5 years in a senior advisory, consulting, strategy, client leadership, or business development role, preferably supporting large Life Insurance organizations.
  • Experience with a leading management or technology consulting firm, ideally a Big Four or comparable global consulting organization.
  • A track record of contributing to or leading business and technology transformation initiatives in Life Insurance.
  • Strong understanding of Life Insurance products, distribution models, underwriting, policy administration, claims, servicing, operations, customer experience, and the broader technology ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage senior executives, build trusted client relationships, identify strategic opportunities, and shape complex solutions.
  • Experience developing client growth strategies, account plans, go-to-market initiatives, and differentiated industry propositions.
  • Commercial acumen, including an understanding of pipeline development, opportunity qualification, revenue growth, and margin considerations.
  • Strong strategic thinking, executive communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
  • The ability to lead through influence and collaborate effectively across a complex, matrixed organization.

What Will Set You Apart
  • An MBA, master’s degree, or equivalent advanced qualification.
  • Established relationships with senior executives at Life Insurance organizations.
  • Experience developing industry solutions, strategic partnerships, or technology-enabled business propositions.
  • Thought leadership through industry publications, conferences, executive forums, or client advisory engagements.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and their practical application to Life Insurance, including AI, data and analytics, cloud, automation, digital platforms, and modern core insurance systems.
  • A strong point of view on the future of Life Insurance and the ability to translate industry developments into actionable client strategies.
