Senior Manager I, Solutions Portfolio


POSITION PROFILE

Responsible for portfolio strategy and product life-cycle management (launch, manage, and retire) for the Ricoh Services, within the Ricoh Digital Ecosystem. Ensure assigned products thrive across all channels and industries. Act as the SME on services, for both internal and external stakeholders. Position products competitively and maintain currency.

Provide product and portfolio development guidance. Establish new approaches to pricing and packaging, that enable the portfolio to out-perform the market.

Reporting to the Director of Portfolio Strategy, the Senior Manager I, Product is a senior position on the Portfolio Strategy team and must be an industry leader with his/her respected technology and bring significant experience with software as a service (SaaS) offerings.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the Portfolio Strategy around a targeted portfolio of B2B services.
  • Ensure product launches are smooth and managed effectively for on-time delivery.   Ensure rep crediting is aligned with revenue and quote, order, bill cycle.
  • Ensure products are effectively launched with particular focus on pricing, positioning, and competitiveness. Support product pricing and positioning with market research. Understand impact of multiple channels on the product positioning.
  • Accountable and responsible for all aspects of the technology, competitors, supply chain, forecasting, etc. Be the -”go-to person" for the assigned product supporting Ricoh leadership.
  • Develop and maintain competitive product advantage. Communicate product competitive position to the organization particularly product strategy and sales.
  • Evaluate current products vis-à-vis new products in the Ricoh portfolio. Ensure new products have distinct advantages and revenue opportunities.
  • Provide SME guidance for the development of sales enablement tools and training (e.g. website, brochures, FAQs, launch announcements, etc).
  • Capture voice of customer and use market research to gain insight into customer use of current products and identify untapped opportunities/buyer personas. 
  • Speak and present Ricoh products to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with Product Managers to ensure Ricoh has the best-in-class offerings. 
  • Provide input to Product Managers on requirements for future products and enhancements and manage the product roadmap.
  • Provide positioning documents and business forecasts based on competitive information. When appropriate recommend GTM strategies.
  • Actively participate in strategy discussions that align with business objectives.
  • Manage multiple technologies that feed market requirements and overall company direction supporting customer care-abouts and sales enablement.
  • As a product leader, he/she is expected to collaborate with key department leaders supporting the product (i.e.. supply chain management, training, legal, back/front office administration, and IT)
  • Understand and support RISE methodology in voice of customer & Gemba activities to understand market technology requirements.
  • Work closely with the Product Management team to provide product insights, competitive information, to influence product development and portfolio success.
  • Ensure that business requirements are understood and considered in all product initiatives.
  • Measure product performance and when appropriate implement enhancement and/or mitigation strategies.
  • Provide reliable forecast reports to the organization to anticipate year-end performance.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university
  • 10 years of successful product management/marketing experience.
  • Requires a min 5 yrs experience and significant depth of knowledge in software as a service (SaaS) and/or B2B software platforms that support services
  • Experience in managing multiple complex projects and programs simultaneously.  Strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Collaboration skills working across with both internal and external stakeholders. Ability to engage people at all levels through-out the organization.
  • Attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to translate technical capabilities to benefits are a must
  • Understanding of SaaS and B2B services business
  • Understanding the sales cycles and product lifecycles and their respective pressures on the marketing functions to drive demand and revenue.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Technical product knowledge regarding functionality and performance.
  • Strong analytical skills particularly regarding financial performance and trends
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to advocate and support a product to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to project manage product launches, expansions and other lifecycle activities
  • Windows 365 suite; Experience with Aha and ASANA is a plus
  • Ability to travel (up to 20%)


WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
  • Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend and apply complex material, data and instruction,prepare, provide and convey diversified information.
  • Minimal physical effort required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically with less than 10 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.).
  • Moderate dexterity regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, eye/hand coordination.
