Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a Senior Manager to join the Super Hornet and Growler Sustainment Program. This is a senior leader role that sits within the Sustainment Program's Leadership Team and on the Systems Program Office's Executive Leadership Team.
Program overview
The Super Hornet and Growler Sustainment Program provides in-service support services for the Royal Australian Air Force's fleet of Super Hornet and Growler aircraft. This Sustainment Program directly contributes to operational readiness, preparedness and platform survivability and lethality.
Why this is exciting
  • You will be responsible for strategic planning, decision support, risk and enterprise management services for the Super Hornet and Growler Enterprise and Systems Program Office.
  • You will lead the Super Hornet and Growler Sustainment Program's Product Steward Team embedded in the Systems Program Office.
  • You will lead the professional engineers, logisticians, trainers, and specialty services practitioners of the Product Steward Team.
  • You will engage with a broad range of external stakeholders within the Australian Defence Organisation, United States Government agencies and Defence Industry.

What you'll get to do
  • You will directly and materially contribute to the Super Hornet and Growler Sustainment Program's mission.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that the Product Steward Team successfully executes a range of complicated sustainment activities.
  • You will be responsible for platform strategies, decision support and modeling capabilities, preparedness assessments, and support system sustainability of Super Hornet and Growler platforms.
  • You will manage performance to ensure cost, quality and schedule requirements of all Product Steward activities and ensure delivery meets and exceeds program objectives.
  • You will be responsible for the planning, management and delivery of long-term support strategies, strategic logistics, risk management frameworks and special services within the Systems Program Office.

  • Demonstrated skills in managing large scale, complex programs and projects to successful and timely completion.
  • Demonstrated experience in a broad range of functional areas including project management, integrated product support, preparedness planning, decision support, modelling and risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully execute high-level management functions including strategy development and delivery, customer liaison, business awareness with a track record of successful execution outcomes.
  • Tertiary qualification in a business-related field, e.g. Program Management, Engineering, Logistics, Commercial or Human Resources disciplines.
  • Understanding and appreciation of a matrix-based organisation and the demonstrated ability to operate effectively within such an environment.
  • Understanding and appreciation of Defence Delivery Group's priorities and policies including Integrated Product Support principles.
  • Understanding and appreciation of Defence's capability delivery systems and preparedness requirements.
