Profile Overview

DAKboard is looking for a senior marketer to own its marketing end to end: planning it, building it, running it, and measuring it. It's a hands-on, senior role for someone who wants to build a marketing engine from the ground up and run it themselves, backed by part-time contractors, saas.group's central marketing team, and a growing set of AI agents. You'll partner closely with DAKboard's CEO, with real ownership over strategy and execution across a wide range of channels, including email, landing pages and CRO, performance marketing, social, retargeting, partnerships, and SEO content, for a product used by tens of thousands of households across the US.

This role currently has no direct reports. Instead of a team of employees, you work through part-time contractors, saas.group's central marketing specialists, and AI agents, and you do a good part of the hands-on work yourself.

Your immediate impact in the first 3-6 months will be:

  • Get a clear read on DAKboard's current marketing channels and choose where you can make the biggest impact first. There's plenty of room to build things out and automate as you go
  • Take full ownership of at least one channel end to end, building it out properly and automating what can be automated before moving on to the next
  • Start managing DAKboard's part-time contractors (landing pages/content/design, social/email/distribution, paid ads) and put AI agents to work on research, content, and analysis in your day-to-day

Your responsibilities

  • Own DAKboard's marketing strategy end to end: plan it, build it, run it, and measure it, channel by channel
  • Build out and automate DAKboard's channels: email, landing pages and conversion rate optimization, performance marketing (Google Ads, Amazon Ads), social, retargeting, partnerships/affiliates, and SEO content
  • Manage and quality-check the work of part-time contractors across these channels
  • Set up, manage, and scale a growing set of AI agents and tools to cover research, content, analysis, and automation
  • Partner closely with DAKboard's CEO on priorities, budget, and testing new channels
  • Write and speak in a way that genuinely resonates with DAKboard's core audience: busy US families and parents

What You bring to the table

  • You think in systems, not just channels, and can look at DAKboard's marketing as a whole to figure out what to focus on next
  • Delegation comes naturally to you. You can scope a project clearly, hand it off to a contractor, an agency, or an AI agent, and judge the quality of what comes back
  • You're organized and self-driven, the kind of person who follows through without anyone chasing you, and you're just as comfortable writing the marketing content and setting up a system yourself as planning the strategy behind it
  • You already use AI tools and agents every day in your own marketing work, for research, content, and analysis, and you can show us real examples. Our interview process includes a short practical exercise with AI tools.
  • You've marketed a B2C SaaS or subscription product before, ideally with ownership across more than one channel. Hardware or e-commerce experience helps, but it's not required
  • You're a fast learner. saas.group's central marketing team already has hands-on experience across every channel and with AI automation systems, so you don't need to have mastered them all yourself. You just need to pick up new approaches quickly and put them to work
  • Your English is native-level American, with a natural feel for how US consumers talk and think, so what you write actually sounds like DAKboard's audience

Nice to have: experience with email marketing at scale, CRO/landing page optimization, performance marketing (Google Ads, retargeting), partner/reseller/affiliate program management, or smart-home, consumer electronics, or family-tech products.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
