ABOUT THE ROLE: Senior Principal Solution Architect

As a Senior Principal Solution Architect, you'll lead complex, enterprise-grade Aviatrix solutions that span multiple systems and domains. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to customers, technical partners, channel partners, and execs by guiding architectural decisions that align with long-term business objectives while driving technical innovation and establishing architectural consistency across engagements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Enterprise Architecture Engagements

  • Design and deliver strategic solutions for adoption by enterprise customers across multiple domains and technology stacks
  • Serve as the senior technical leader in customer-facing engagements, shaping network and security architectures across AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid environments
  • Guide entire solution lifecycles from discovery through deployment, ensuring architectural consistency and sustainability

Drive Innovation & Product Influence

  • Apply deep expertise in networking, cybersecurity, and observability to help customers modernize application delivery and secure distributed systems
  • Provide architectural insights to Aviatrix product and engineering teams to influence roadmap direction based on field experiences
  • Balance innovation with risk management, ensuring technical feasibility and business impact

Executive Relationship & Strategic Alignment

  • Partner with CxOs, engineering teams, and field organizations to translate business goals into actionable architectures and scalable deployments
  • Navigate organizational complexity to align stakeholders and accelerate solution adoption
  • Operate as trusted advisor to customer senior leadership, including VP-level stakeholders

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

  • Represent Aviatrix through thought leadership including white papers, reference architectures, webinars, and conference speaking
  • Mentor and guide solution architects and engineers across the organization through technical leadership and knowledge-sharing
  • Drive architectural workshops and executive briefings; regularly engage at the CxO level

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 20+ years of hands-on technical experience designing and delivering complex cloud and networking solutions across onprem, AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Enterprise Architecture Leadership – Proven track record leading enterprise-scale architecture engagements with cross-functional teams and multi-region deployments
  • Multi-Cloud Mastery – Deep expertise with advanced constructs like TGW, VPCs/VNets, firewalls, and observability pipelines in hybrid environments, and experience with IaC platforms
  • Security & Compliance – Experience with cloud security frameworks, zero trust models, and integrating controls like DLP, firewalls, IAM, and advanced Observability security suites

Leadership & Communication

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Demonstrated ability working across product, engineering, sales, and executive teams to drive outcomes
  • Executive Presence – Strong ability to simplify complex architectures, influence executives, and inspire technical communities
  • Mentorship Experience – Track record mentoring senior architects and guiding architectural best practices

Technical Depth

  • Cloud Operations at Scale – Experience building and scaling telemetry pipelines, distributed systems monitoring, and driving adoption across sysadmins and executives
  • Enterprise Rigor – Ability to apply disciplined, mission-critical thinking in enterprise and military environments

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience driving cloud service provider architectures beyond enterprise use cases
  • Familiarity with DevOps and Agile methodologies at scale with deep understanding of Terraform
  • History building reference designs, frameworks, and standards in large organizations
  • Track record of public thought leadership (blogs, talks, panels)

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKA LIKE

  • Year 1: Lead strategic customer engagements, establish trusted advisor relationships with 3-5 enterprise accounts, contribute to 2+ reference architectures
  • Ongoing: Influence product roadmap through field insights, mentor junior architects, represent Aviatrix at industry events, drive architectural consistency across customer base

This role operates at the intersection of deep technical expertise and strategic business impact, requiring someone who can translate complex technical challenges into business outcomes while building the next generation of cloud architecture talent.


US Pay Range

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $196,945-$231,700 + benefits + 401(k) match + equity and is bonus eligible. The pay range is determined by the role, work location, job-related skills, level, experience and relevant education.  The range displayed is applicable only for new hires for the listed position located in the US. Your total compensation package will be based on job-related knowledge, education, certifications and location, per our aligned ranges.
