Role Purpose

LevelTen Energy’s mission is to accelerate the energy transition by facilitating frictionless transactions. As the leading provider of renewable transaction infrastructure, we deliver the cloud-based software, centralized supply, automated analytics, and transaction expertise required to power the renewable energy economy. The LevelTen Platform is the world’s largest online hub for renewable energy buyers, sellers, advisors, asset owners and financiers, and delivers the online tools and expertise they need to buy, sell and finance assets quickly.

Join us on a mission that matters.

As a Senior Product Designer at LevelTen Energy, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of renewable energy procurement. In this role, you will have a focus on LevelTen’s data products while also supporting the broader platform. You will work closely with the Product & Design team and cross-functionally to design innovative solutions that meet the needs of our diverse customer base, including energy buyers, developers, and financiers. You will help us move from simple data display to focus on the actual mechanics of analysis — designing the workflows to help our customers make clear, data-driven decisions during the renewable energy procurement process.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Workflow-Driven Design: Lead the end-to-end process for LevelTen’s data products, shifting the focus from viewing data to interacting with it. You will design the logical paths that allow users to filter noise and reach clear conclusions.
  • User-Centered Design: Translate deep user research into design solutions that make complex, multi-variate data easily understandable and accessible.
  • Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineers, and analysts to ensure analytical workflows are technically feasible and aligned with business objectives.
  • Innovative Solutions: Leverage an innovative mindset to explore how technologies can enhance how users interact with and extract meaning from data.
  • Design Systems: Develop and maintain design systems to ensure consistency and efficiency across all product lines.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years professional experience designing data-rich experiences for B2B customers and applications in a startup environment.
  • Customer Focused: Deep empathy for users and a passion for understanding their needs to create intuitive and impactful design solutions for complex data.
  • Nimble: Can balance between more elegant vs. scrappy, iterative solutions based on user and business needs.
  • Orchestrator: Understands the art of prioritization and can break apart large projects into meaningful, smaller pieces.
  • Storyteller: Intuitively understands how to craft communication mechanisms to best resonate with their audience.
  • Team Player: Has strong partnership experience with product management and engineering — and can fluently speak to business and product needs and technical implications.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in design tools such as Figma. Familiarity with HTML and CSS is a plus. As well as familiarity with data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., Highcharts, Tableau, Omni) and basic understanding of data structures and databases.
  • Innovative Mindset: A forward-thinker who is excited to leverage new technologies, such as AI,  to enhance product design and user experience when interacting with data.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in UI/UX design, problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality design solutions.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
