Job Description

The Senior Product Manager for Developer Platform Core Services is a key member of the Nordstrom Product Management team, leading the strategy, vision, and execution for deployment pipelines, developer tooling, and platform orchestration. This role is accountable for transforming how engineering teams build, deploy, and operate applications across the enterprise, enabling developers to ship code faster and more reliably through streamlined workflows and modern platform capabilities.

The Senior Product Manager will partner closely with Developer Platform team to design and deliver capabilities that modernize our infrastructure, enhance developer productivity, and provide seamless platform experiences. This Product Manager will own the product strategy for deployment automation, container orchestration, workflow management, and developer tooling that serves as the foundation for engineering velocity across Nordstrom.

Product Management is responsible for making sure we build the right products and features for our customers and business. To accomplish that, product managers plan the product roadmap and prioritize the applicable technology backlog, lead product discovery, and measure and communicate results of the feature portfolio in production, all while ensuring stakeholder alignment.

A day in the life…

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and communicate a compelling multi-year vision and strategy for Developer Platform Core Services including deployment pipelines, developer tooling, and platform orchestration, ensuring alignment to company strategic vision
  • Act as the primary product owner for the Developer Platform organization, evangelizing the product and influencing strategic roadmap decisions up and down the pyramid
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives across the Developer Platform, collaborating with product, technical program, and engineering teams to drive measurable outcomes
  • Monitor industry trends and evolving best practices in DevOps, platform engineering, and developer experience to inform strategy and execution

Stakeholder Management & Discovery

  • Drive discovery and planning with cross-functional teams including Dev Tools, Dev Compute, Data Streaming Platform, and Cloud Engineering—ensuring solutions are technically feasible and aligned with business goals
  • Lead customer research across the organization and independently synthesize insights to develop a deep understanding of developer pain points, deployment challenges, and platform requirements
  • Orchestrate comprehensive planning sessions across dependencies, building strong relationships with engineering leadership to ensure alignment and sustained support for platform modernization initiatives

Product Execution & Delivery

  • Translate deep understanding of developer needs into actionable plans spanning the full product lifecycle and prioritize features based on developer feedback, operational metrics, business impact, and technical feasibility
  • Define and implement comprehensive go-to-market strategies including UAT, communication, change management, and post-launch validation for platform migrations and new developer tools
  • Establish and monitor KPIs including deployment success rates, build times, developer adoption, and platform reliability

You own this if you have…

  • 4 years of product management experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or technical infrastructure, with a proven track record leading platform initiative including planning, risk mitigation, developer adoption, and change management
  • Domain expertise in DevOps practices, deployment pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and platform observability, with hands-on experience supporting workflows from code commit through production deployment
  • Strong technical fluency in developer platforms and tooling including CI/CD systems (GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), deployment automation, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Demonstrated ability to define, measure, and analyze KPIs to drive improvements in developer productivity, deployment velocity, and platform reliability through data-driven decision making
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with proven ability to influence and align stakeholders across all levels spanning from senior engineering leadership to individual developers
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience

Pay Range Details


The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. 
Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$142,000.00 - $220,500.00 Annual
