We are seeking a Senior Product Manager, Payments to drive major product outcomes across the Payments & Financial Services portfolio at Commerce. This is an individual contributor role responsible for helping to set strategy and leading execution within our critical Core Payments and Financial Services portfolio. You will operate as a product “force multiplier,” aligning colleagues across Product, Engineering, Design, Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Partnerships to solve complex problems, define the domain direction of Payments, and deliver measurable customer and business impact. This role reports into the SVP of Payments.
What You’ll Do:
Own strategy & outcomes across Payments and Financial Services, ensuring that Commerce’s Core Payments offering evolves in-line with the rapid evolution and innovation within the sector
Act as an internal subject matter expert for Commerce’s Core Payments capabilities, with technical fluency
Lead ambiguous, cross-team initiatives across time zones where alignment is hard and tradeoffs are real
Work collaboratively with colleagues in Engineering and Product to deliver impactful projects which enhance merchant experience, on-time and with a sense of urgency
Define platform-level capabilities that support a variety of merchant payment use cases from SMB to large Enterprise, both B2B and B2C
Product Strategy & Portfolio Leadership
Drive strategy, roadmap, and measurable outcomes within the Core Payments domain
Translate the payments vision into an actionable portfolio plan with clear sequencing, dependencies, and success metrics
Develop strong point-of-view on market needs within Core Payments and where Commerce should develop in-house vs utilize partners
Customer, Market & Competitive Leadership
Build a deep and structured understanding of merchant payment and financial services requirements through research, merchant discussions and data
Maintain an informed view of the latest developments in payments and adjacent financial services solution categories (for example: POS, subscriptions, orchestration, working capital, crypto/stablecoins, issuing)
Represent customer needs and trade-offs succinctly to stakeholders in the form of business cases; ensure roadmap decisions are grounded in evidence
Focused Execution
Define the end-to-end customer experience across user interfaces, developer interfaces and agentic interfaces
Work on cross-functional programs from discovery through launch and iteration, coordinating across multiple product and engineering teams
Help define product requirements, success metrics, and go/no-go criteria that drive quality, performance, and scalability
Demonstrate clear decision-making through structured tradeoffs (customer impact, platform complexity, time-to-value, and commercial upside)
Business Impact, Monetization & GTM Enablement
Own KPI outcomes for your areas (e.g. conversion, adoption, retention impact, revenue)
Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product Marketing and Solutions Engineering to ensure new capabilities meet merchant needs and are clearly differentiated
Who You Are:
5–8+ years of product management experience, including ownership of complex platform or enterprise product areas, prior experience in payments and/or financial services is required
Proven ability to lead cross-team initiatives that require alignment across Product, Engineering, Design, and GTM
Exhibits intellectual curiosity to explore cutting edge innovations within payments and financial services
An established track record of shipping products that drive measurable outcomes (e.g. conversion, retention, expansion, revenue, efficiency)
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to drive clarity with both commercial and technical teams
Proficient at using AI tools in your professional role, including Claude and ChatGPT
Comfortable working across time zones: this role will regularly work with key stakeholders and colleagues in Europe, the USA and Australia
Strong analytical skills and comfort using data to prioritize and measure impact
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively amid ambiguity and changing conditions
Technical background or strong technical fluency (APIs, data models)
Experience establishing product operating practices
Able to travel occasionally (1-4x a year) as business needs require

This is a hybrid role. For candidates based in the Atlanta, GA or Austin, TX metro area, the position follows a hybrid work model with three days per week in the office, balancing focused individual work with meaningful in-person collaboration.

(Pay Transparency Range: $121,000 - $182,000.00)

The national base salary range for this role is posted above in this job post.
Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications and geographic location. We also consider internal equity to help ensure fair and consistent pay practices across our teams.
