The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Staff Product Manager to lead product development for the Docs & Databases platform team.

Docs is where teams build living documents that replace scattered spreadsheets, project trackers, and internal tools with a single, flexible surface. Databases is a new product for directly managing central datasets.

At the heart of this experience is a powerful database architecture and formula engine — the system that lets users wire together tables, buttons, automations, and views into applications uniquely tailored to how they work.

This is an opportunity to own the core platform that empowers users with the superpower of developers, all from an approachable document surface.

In this role, you will:

  • Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for Docs database and calculation platform, and the new Databases product

  • Shape new product experiences for large-scale databases, including integration with new products

  • Own the powerful Superhuman formula language and calculation engine

  • Guide performance investments across the product

  • Partner with customers pushing Docs and Databases capabilities to the extreme, to uncover and shape new opportunities

  • Design experiences that make the most powerful capabilities approachable to a wide audience

  • Make decisions that balance user needs with technical constraints

  • Partner closely with a stellar engineering team

Qualifications
  • Has at least 8 years of product management experience, ideally including database, calculation, or performance work.

  • Technical depth: Can learn and deeply understand technical systems to anticipate and guide the implications of technical decisions on product behaviors.

  • Reasoning: Define principles to balance flexibility with constraints that ensure a consistent and performant experience.

  • Product sense: You’re confident in making tough product decisions in a crunch. You seek feedback from others and manage stakeholders at all levels to get to the best outcome quickly. You’re able to weigh and communicate trade-offs and identify risks, without getting stuck in analysis paralysis.

  • Has a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance, proactively manages tasks and priorities across multiple projects, analyzes and executes work efficiently, collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrives in fast-paced, results-driven environments.

  • Based in Seattle or San Francisco with occasional travel for team off-sites and collaboration.

Compensation and benefits

Superhuman offers all team members competitive pay along with a benefits package encompassing the following and more:

  • Excellent health care (including a wide range of medical, dental, vision, mental health, and fertility benefits)

  • Disability and life insurance options

  • 401(k) and RRSP matching

  • Paid parental leave

  • 20 days of paid time off per year, 12 days of paid holidays per year, two floating holidays per year, and flexible sick time

  • Generous stipends (including those for caregiving, pet care, wellness, your home office, and more)

  • Annual professional development budget and opportunities

Superhuman takes a market-based approach to compensation, which means base pay may vary depending on your location. Our US locations are categorized into two compensation zones based on proximity to our hub locations. In Canada, all locations where we support employment are considered “Zone 1”.

Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined by compensation zone and may be modified in the future.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
