Job Description:

At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we've tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money - we're here to move our global customers forward.
We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that's you and you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career - we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders.About the Role:

Every year, millions of people send money across borders to pay school fees, cover medical bills, and keep families going. The moment a customer taps Send is the moment they hand over money they cannot afford to lose, to a company they are trusting to get it right. Everything that happens next, the confirmation, the tracking, the notifications, the delays, the recovery when something breaks, is where that trust is either earned or lost.

That is what you will own. As Senior Product Manager for the Post-Submit Experience, you will lead the product from the moment a transfer is submitted through the moment the recipient has the money in hand, and into the return that starts the next transfer. You will lead a cross-functional squad of engineers, designers, and analysts, and you will work across payout operations, risk, compliance, customer support, and lifecycle marketing to shape an experience that no single team controls on its own. You will report directly to the Director of Product, Core Transfer Experience.

This is a rare product surface. It sits at the highest-anxiety point in the customer journey, it is one of the largest drivers of support contacts in the business, and it is also one of the strongest levers on repeat rate and lifetime value. Getting it right is both a trust problem and a growth problem.

You Will
  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the post-submit experience across mobile, web, and messaging surfaces, and make the case for it with senior leadership.

  • Set the standard for how Remitly communicates with customers after submit, including transfer status, proactive updates, delay and exception handling, and recipient-side communication, so that customers know what is happening without having to ask.

  • Reduce the volume and cost of support contacts by making the product answer the questions customers currently call us about, working closely with Customer Success and payout partners.

  • Turn post-submit into a growth surface, including failed payment recovery, repeat send prompts, referral moments, and next best action orchestration across the customer journey.

  • Advocate for the customer across organizational boundaries you do not own, including disbursement partners, risk holds, and compliance reviews, and translate operational reality into product decisions.

  • Build a strong experimentation and research practice for the squad, using quantitative and qualitative insight to decide what to build and to prove what worked.

  • Partner with engineering and design leaders across Seattle, Vancouver, and Krakow to ship consistently and to raise the bar on quality and velocity.

You Have
  • 5+ years of product management experience building consumer-facing digital products at scale.

  • A track record of owning a customer-facing surface end to end, from strategy through launch and iteration, with clear metric outcomes you can speak to.

  • Experience with transactional or operational experiences where things go wrong at meaningful volume, and comfort designing for the unhappy path as carefully as the happy one.

  • Strong data fluency, including hypothesis design, A/B testing, and the ability to get to your own answers in the data.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and align teams you do not manage, including operational and non-product partners.

  • Excellent written communication, and the judgment to know what a senior audience needs to hear.

  • Experience working with distributed teams across time zones.

Nice to Have
  • Experience in fintech, payments, or remittances, or in another domain where order tracking and status communication are core to the experience, such as logistics, delivery, or travel.

  • Experience with lifecycle messaging, notification platforms, or CRM systems.

  • Experience with personalization, next best action, or other ML-driven decisioning systems.

  • Experience partnering closely with customer support or operations organizations.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
