Lead technical product strategy and execution for a cloud-first, multi-tenant dental B2B SaaS platform. Define service boundaries, APIs, data models, observability, and AI-enabled features. Drive engineering execution, integrations, metrics, and product/platform tradeoffs while partnering with CEO, engineering, design, and customers.
Senior Product Manager (Technical) — Dental SaaS Platform
About the role
We’re building the next generation of cloud-first software for dentistry—modern architecture, exceptional UX, and AI-powered workflows that reduce busywork and help teams run more efficient, more patient-friendly operations. This is a rare opportunity to join a small, high-impact team shaping a major new product direction from the ground up.
You’ll work directly with the CEO and partner closely with engineering and design to make smart, architecture-aware product decisions and ship meaningful capabilities fast. This is not a “write requirements and hand them off” role—you’ll operate as a deeply technical product leader with high ownership end-to-end.
What you’ll own
- Product strategy + execution for foundational capabilities that power modern dental workflows (cloud-first, AI-forward).
- Technical product leadership across a multi-tenant B2B SaaS platform: isolation, scalability, reliability, performance, cost, and security.
- Cross-service orchestration: define service boundaries, APIs, event flows, state management, and safe evolution over time.
- Data platform and integrity: define key domain models, auditability expectations, migrations, and reporting/analytics readiness.
- AI-enabled experiences: ship practical AI features (assistive automation, summarization, classification, routing) with guardrails and measurable impact.
- Integration strategy: APIs and interoperability with external systems and partners (payments, communications, insurance workflows, analytics, identity, etc.).
- Metrics and outcomes: establish success measures, instrumentation, and feedback loops to drive iteration.
What you’ll do day-to-day
Translate ambiguous business goals into crisp product + platform decisions with clear tradeoffs.
Produce high-signal artifacts engineers can build from: PRDs, technical specs, API contracts, event schemas, data model proposals, rollout plans.
Drive execution with engineering: prioritization, sequencing, dependency management, delivery accountability.
- Lead architecture-informed discussions: modular monolith vs microservices, tenancy models, event-driven workflows, database design, reliability patterns.
- Build with quality in mind: observability requirements, edge cases, safe migrations, backwards compatibility, and gradual rollouts.
- Engage customers and internal stakeholders to validate direction, measure impact, and iterate quickly.
What we’re looking for
Core experience
6+ years in Product Management with significant experience as a technical PM (platform, infrastructure-heavy, or systems products).
Proven track record shipping multi-tenant B2B SaaS products at scale.
- Comfort partnering deeply with engineering on architecture and system design—you can reason through tradeoffs and spot risk early.
Strong technical fluency
• Comfortable with:
Multi-tenant patterns (tenant isolation, shared vs dedicated resources, sharding considerations)
Databases and data modeling (SQL fundamentals, indexing, migrations, reporting implications)
Distributed systems (queues/events, retries, idempotency, eventual consistency)
Service boundaries, API design, versioning, contract testing
Observability (logs/metrics/tracing), incident learnings, reliability/SLO thinking
• You don’t need to code daily, but you should be able to read code, review schemas, and speak engineering fluently.
Domain experience (huge plus)
- Medical or dental billing and revenue-cycle workflows: eligibility/benefits, claims lifecycle, ERA/EOB posting, adjustments, patient statements, collections, reconciliation.
- Experience building software that touches payments, accounting-like ledgers, or healthcare-adjacent workflows.
Product leadership
- Excellent judgment on v1 scope vs “platform forever.”
- Ability to simplify complex workflows into intuitive user experiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication; you align executives and engineers around a clear narrative.
- High ownership and bias to ship.
Bonus points
- Experience building dental/medical workflow software, payments platforms, or integration ecosystems.
- Familiarity with AI/LLM product patterns (evaluation, guardrails, human-in-the-loop).
- Experience with partner APIs, SDKs, extensibility frameworks, and enterprise reliability requirements.
Why this role is different
- Reports directly to the CEO
- Small, elite team with high ownership and fast iteration cycles
- Opportunity to build foundational product + platform capabilities from scratch
- High leverage: your decisions will shape architecture, speed, and product direction for years
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary + meaningful equity.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) with company match
- Direct collaboration with company leadership on organization design, scaling strategy, and growth initiatives
