Overview

AI value and cost are the questions every customer asks before they scale, and few have a confident answer. FinOps for AI is the story and guidance that help customers forecast, govern, and optimize AI spend so they can fund the next workload.

As the Senior Product Marketing Manager, FinOps for AI Go-to-Market, you will own how that story reaches the market. In this role you will own the FinOps for AI go-to-market end to end.

  1. Build the market: run FinOps for AI through our modern marketing engine, where customer proof, influencers, community, events, and the web do the persuading and customer signals tell us where to invest.
  2. Arm the field and partners: develop the partner strategy and build the core field and partner bill of materials with the teams who sell.
  3. Run it as one system: one story across every product, pricing, and web team that touches AI cost, with one measurement plan behind it.

You do not need to arrive as a FinOps expert but you need to be ready to become one fast. You need to be a strong marketer who has taken a story to market and landed it with sales and partners. You join a FinOps for AI team inside a cross-company FinOps for AI program with executive sponsors and a set planning cadence. A customer destination and core field content launch this fall. You will scale them through field and partner channels in the second half of the year and make FinOps for AI the model for how this team takes every topic to market.

Responsibilities

Build the market: Make FinOps for AI the story customers find and believe.

Own the FinOps for AI go-to-market and the Plan, Manage, Optimize customer journey, consistent everywhere the story appears.

  • Run it through the team's modern marketing engine: customer proof and advocacy, influencer and community voices, events, social, the FinOps for AI destination on microsoft.com, and in-product moments.
  • Create and read customer signals, then put budget and effort behind what performs.
  • Build the evidence: customer outcomes, practitioner guidance, third-party validation, and product adoption results.
  • Develop messaging and go-to-market strategies around AI tokenomics, helping customers connect AI consumption, cost optimization, and business value through a FinOps lens.

Arm the field and partners.

Make FinOps for AI the conversation sellers and partners have with customers.

  • Develop the partner strategy: which partner types and motions matter, what partners need from Microsoft to sell and deliver FinOps for AI, and how partner activity is measured.
  • Land FinOps for AI with field-facing teams through readiness, discovery conversations, and feedback loops with sales leadership across Microsoft's cloud and AI solution areas.
  • Build and maintain the core field and partner bill of materials: walking deck, discovery story, customer story with demos, one-pagers, objection handling, and enablement content, published where sellers and partners look and written so an agent can retrieve and quote it.

Run it as one system.

Work inside Microsoft's cross-company FinOps for AI program, with named workstream leads, executive sponsors, and a set planning cadence, so customers see one story and results are measured one way.

  • Represent the go-to-market in that program and with sales leadership, and coordinate with product, pricing and offers, cost management, and web teams on one FinOps for AI story.
  • Run the content ask to product teams (what exists, what is committed, when it lands) and the weekly gap review with named owners and dates.
  • Own the measurement plan across Reach (customer, field, community, and partner reach), Engage (enablement delivered, field and partner activation), and Impact (consumption growth and product adoption influenced).
