About Arboreal Management

Arboreal Management is a rapidly growing real estate owner, developer, and property manager focused on affordable and workforce housing throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Our mission is simple but ambitious: deliver below-market rents for residents while generating above-market returns for investors.

We believe affordable housing should not require sacrificing operational excellence or investment performance. By combining disciplined real estate investing, exceptional property management, and technology-enabled operations, we are building a different kind of housing company.

Over the past four years, Arboreal has approximately doubled in size each year and now manages thousands of apartment homes across Washington and Oregon. We continue to grow rapidly through acquisitions, development, and third-party management partnerships.

What makes Arboreal unique is our operating model:

  • Exceptional local property management teams

  • A highly capable offshore operations and accounting organization

  • Proprietary AI-enabled technology platforms that automate and improve core business processes

We are building a modern housing company designed to scale.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team and help elevate the sophistication of our accounting and financial reporting function.

This is an ideal role for someone coming from public accounting, fund accounting, financial reporting, or a complex multi-entity environment who wants broader ownership, greater impact, and a direct role in helping build a high-growth organization.

As Arboreal expands and works with increasingly sophisticated investors, lenders, and institutional partners, we are investing heavily in accounting processes, controls, reporting, and financial infrastructure. This role will play a key part in that effort.

You will work closely with senior leadership, property accounting teams, offshore accounting staff, auditors, lenders, and ownership groups while helping shape the future of the accounting organization.

Why Join Arboreal?

Most accounting roles focus on maintaining existing systems. This role is about helping build them.

You will join a company that has doubled in size nearly every year for the past four years and is continuing to expand rapidly. You will work directly with experienced operators, real estate professionals, and technology teams while helping create the financial infrastructure required to support the next stage of growth.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Build systems instead of simply operating them

  • Work with sophisticated investors, lenders, and ownership groups

  • Gain exposure to acquisitions, development, and asset management

  • Help modernize accounting through technology and automation

  • Make a meaningful impact on affordable housing in the Pacific Northwest

For candidates who are ambitious, intellectually curious, and excited by growth, this role offers a clear path toward Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, and future leadership opportunities as Arboreal continues to scale.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
