Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager independently leads complex projects and engagements across multiple workstreams, stakeholder groups, vendors, and delivery dependencies. This role integrates scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, governance, and change into a coherent delivery approach, using sound judgment to navigate ambiguity, manage tradeoffs, and maintain momentum when plans or assumptions change.
The role anticipates delivery risks, facilitates difficult tradeoff and recovery discussions, and gives senior stakeholders clear, decision-ready recommendations. It also mentors project managers and strengthens governance and delivery discipline while remaining focused on assigned projects rather than assuming ownership of a broader program or account portfolio.
Location: Remote – United States
Please note this is a contract role.

Key Responsibilities

Complex Project Delivery
  • Independently own delivery of complex projects and engagements with minimal oversight, aligning delivery activities to intended client outcomes.
  • Build and maintain integrated plans across workstreams, milestones, teams, vendors, and dependencies; coordinate cross-functional contributors through ambiguity and changing priorities.
  • Apply sound judgment to scope, schedule, budget, quality, resource, commercial, and delivery-recovery tradeoffs as conditions change.
  • Protect quality, acceptance criteria, operational readiness, team health, and delivery commitments throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk, Governance & Stakeholder Leadership
  • Anticipate risks and constraints, develop contingency and recovery plans, and escalate material issues with clear analysis and recommendations.
  • Lead complex governance forums and stakeholder discussions; communicate delivery health, options, impacts, decisions, and required actions clearly.
  • Manage project financials, forecasts, change requests, resource needs, commitments, and delivery variances with the appropriate business and delivery partners.
Adobe Platform & Cross-Team Coordination
  • Coordinate technical delivery across relevant Adobe Experience Cloud platforms and integrations, aligning workstreams, data flows, environments, and deployment dependencies.
  • Work effectively with technical and business teams across platform implementations, integrations, migrations, and environment promotion from development and QA through staging and production.
Team Development & Continuous Improvement
  • Mentor Associate Project Managers and Project Managers through coaching, plan reviews, and practical delivery guidance.
  • Strengthen project standards, reusable practices, reporting, and lessons learned within the assigned delivery area

Required Skills & Experience

Project Leadership & Delivery
  • 4–8 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent practical experience, managing projects or engagements.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex projects with multiple workstreams, stakeholder groups, dependencies, vendors, or significant delivery risk.
  • Strong command of integrated project planning, scope and change control, scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, quality, governance, and delivery reporting.
  • Sound judgment in resolving competing priorities and recommending scope, schedule, budget, resource, or recovery tradeoffs.
  • Experience anticipating delivery risks, creating mitigation or recovery plans, and escalating material decisions with actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to manage project financials, forecasts, commitments, change requests, and delivery variances in partnership with relevant teams.
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, including leading complex stakeholder forums and presenting decision-ready options to senior audiences.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional client and internal teams through ambiguity, shifting priorities, and changing delivery conditions.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring less experienced project delivery practitioners and reinforcing consistent project discipline.
Adobe & Technical Delivery Context
  • Working familiarity with Adobe Experience Cloud delivery contexts, such as Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RTCDP), Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Adobe Commerce, Workfront, or Marketo Engage, as relevant to the engagement.
  • Understanding of technical integration dependencies, data flows, multi-environment delivery, and release or deployment coordination across development, QA, staging, and production.
  • Experience with Agile, scaled Agile, or CI/CD-enabled delivery models and complex cross-team integration efforts.

Preferred Qualifications / Experience
  • Experience leading Adobe platform implementations, migrations, or integrations involving multiple technical and business workstreams.
  • Experience improving project governance, reporting, reusable delivery practices, or lessons-learned processes.

Role Expectations
  • Operate independently on complex work with minimal oversight, using strong judgment to solve problems and improve delivery outcomes.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the success and delivery discipline of the broader project team.
  • Travel up to 30% as project and client needs require.
  • Maintain an 85% utilization target.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
