Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Sales Engineer to join our US team and play a key role in Cyolo’s continued growth in North America.

In this role, you will focus on supporting enterprise customers and driving opportunities within the Eastern and Central time zones (EST/CST).

We are seeking a seasoned cybersecurity Sales Engineer who can serve as a strong technical partner to our customers, partners, and sales organization, while also helping us enhance and develop our capabilities globally.

You will lead the technical side of complex enterprise sales cycles, translate customer security and operational challenges into compelling solutions, and help customers understand how Cyolo can secure access and connectivity across their most critical environments.

As an experienced Sales Engineer on the team, you will also bring proven methodologies and best practices from the cybersecurity industry, helping demonstrate what great technical pre-sales looks like and contributing to the development of the broader team.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Ownership: Own the technical aspects of enterprise sales cycles, from initial discovery through technical validation and close.
  • Strategic Partnership: Partner closely with Account Executives to understand customer requirements, identify technical challenges, and position Cyolo’s solutions effectively.
  • Technical Validation: Lead compelling product demonstrations, technical presentations, workshops, architecture discussions, and Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with a wide range of customer stakeholders, including CISOs, security teams, infrastructure and network teams, OT professionals, and technical decision-makers.
  • Solution Architecture: Translate complex cybersecurity and operational requirements into clear technical solutions and distinct business value.
  • Trusted Advisor: Build trusted relationships with customers and become a credible technical advisor throughout the sales process.
  • Channel Support: Support Cyolo’s channel-first GTM strategy by working closely with partners and supporting partner-led opportunities.
  • Mentorship & Best Practices: Help establish and promote technical pre-sales best practices across the US organization, mentoring other members of the SE team through knowledge sharing, deal collaboration, and technical guidance.
  • Cross-Functional Feedback: Provide structured feedback from customers and the market to Product, R&D, Customer Success, and other internal teams.
  • Market Expertise: Stay current on cybersecurity trends, competitive technologies, and developments across Zero Trust, identity, network security, and OT security.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical pre-sales role.
  • Domain Expertise: Strong preference for experience working for a cybersecurity vendor, ideally selling enterprise security solutions.
  • Sales Track Record: Proven experience supporting complex enterprise B2B sales cycles.
  • Technical Foundation: Strong technical foundation in areas such as networking, identity and access management (IAM), authentication, Zero Trust, privileged access, and/or network security.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to understand complex customer environments and design/communicate appropriate technical solutions.
  • Communication & Presence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a strong customer presence and the ability to establish credibility quickly with both deeply technical stakeholders and senior business/security leaders.
  • Execution & Ownership: Demonstrated ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Location & Coverage: Must be based in and able to support customers across the Eastern or Central time zones (EST/CST) [1.14].
  • Travel: Ability to travel as required to support customers, partners, and sales opportunities.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with OT/ICS security or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM), secure remote access, micro-segmentation, or Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA).
  • Knowledge of industrial networking or IT/OT environments.
  • Experience working with channel partners, VARs, MSSPs, or systems integrators.
  • Experience in a high-growth cybersecurity company or startup environment.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
