How we’ll help you thrive
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Growth team, where you’ll help millions of creators and businesses get more out of Linktree. Growth spans the full journey, from how people discover Linktree through activation, engagement, retention, and monetization, and our team works across all of it rather than any single stage.
As a growth engineer, you’ll build and iterate on the experiments, product surfaces, and systems that drive user activation, engagement, and retention. You’ll work closely with product, design, and data partners to identify high-leverage opportunities, ship experiments quickly, and translate learnings into durable product improvements. This is a hands-on IC role for an engineer who enjoys working close to the metrics and iterating quickly in a fast-moving environment.
- Build and ship experiments that improve activation, engagement, and retention for new and existing users, from initial hypothesis through measurement and iteration.
- Partner with product, design, and data science to identify high-leverage growth opportunities across the funnel and translate them into a prioritized technical roadmap.
- Work across the growth stack these experiences run on, including onboarding flows, in-product promotions, and re-engagement campaigns.
- Design, build, and integrate the systems, services, and APIs behind this work, including internal and third-party integrations and the cloud infrastructure they run on.
- Instrument and analyze product usage data to surface insights that inform both your own work and the broader team’s strategy.
- Bring AI into how you build and, where it helps, into the product experience itself.
- Improve the reliability, scalability, and observability of the systems that power growth experiments.
- Mentor peers on experimentation best practices and contribute to a strong engineering culture on the team.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally including time spent on growth, activation, or lifecycle-focused teams.
- Strong product sense and experience running or contributing to A/B tests and product experiments, with comfort interpreting data to make decisions.
- Solid full-stack engineering skills across our core stack (TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL or MySQL, GraphQL, AWS), with the ability to move quickly across the systems needed to ship and measure an experiment end-to-end. Full-stack is preferred; we are also glad to talk to strong front-end-leaning engineers who want to grow across the stack.
- Experience designing and integrating services and APIs, including internal and third-party integrations, within cloud-based, service-oriented architectures.
- Comfortable with data: SQL, data modeling, and working with data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery) to inform decisions.
- Fluency with AI-assisted development (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Codex, Devin), including how to prompt, iterate, validate, and refine what these tools produce, plus interest in applying AI within the product experience.
- Excellent collaborator who communicates clearly with product, design, and data partners and can influence direction through evidence and technical judgment.
Linktree is committed to providing a fair and competitive compensation package including cash, equity, and benefits. The base salary offered for this role is targeted at $190,000-$215,000 for roles based in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Final offers depend on multiple factors including location, experience, expertise, and role scope, and may vary from the range listed.
P.S. If you don’t tick every box in this listing, please don’t rule yourself out. We take pride in inclusion and hiring incredible human beings with great potential over ticking boxes – so if this role resonates with you, hit that apply button!
