We are seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer to support quality assurance, release testing, and data validation for complex healthcare technology solutions. In this role, you will analyze requirements, design test strategies, create test plans and test cases, validate data using SQL, support database and batch job testing, and manage defects through resolution. The ideal candidate has strong experience across the software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile testing practices, healthcare EDI, HIPAA, PHI, CMS reporting, T-MSIS reporting, ELT/EDW environments, and test management tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps.
Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze business, user, and system requirements to develop effective software testing solutions in an Agile environment.
Create and maintain release test models, including test plans, test data, test scripts, test estimates, test schedules, and test strategies.
Define release test plans, user acceptance testing criteria, and entry and exit criteria for production readiness.
Design, develop, execute, and debug test cases, test scripts, test plans, and quality strategy documentation.
Perform functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, database testing, batch job testing, data validation, and release testing.
Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate data accuracy, completeness, transformation, and reporting outcomes.
Support healthcare technology testing involving EDI, HIPAA, PHI, CMS reports, federal reporting, T-MSIS reports, ELT, Informatica, and enterprise data warehouse environments.
Use test management tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps to build test plans, manage test cases, document results, and track defects.
Identify, document, triage, and manage software defects through closure using structured troubleshooting methodologies.
Assist in planning, creating, maintaining, and controlling test environments and release installation procedures.
Coordinate testing-specific release activities and participate in structured walk-throughs, peer reviews, release readiness meetings, and lessons learned sessions.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, product teams, vendors, and client-facing teams to resolve unclear requirements and deliver successful testing outcomes.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
8+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, Software Test Engineer, Test Analyst, or related software testing role.
8+ years of experience working across software development life cycle (SDLC) implementations.
Experience creating test plans, test estimates, test schedules, test strategies, test cases, test scripts, and test data.
Strong experience writing complex SQL statements for data validation and backend testing.
Hands-on experience with database testing, batch job testing, data validation, and reporting validation.
Experience using JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar test management and defect tracking tools.
Strong hands-on experience with test automation concepts, frameworks, and execution.
Experience testing healthcare systems involving EDI, HIPAA, PHI, CMS, federal reporting, or T-MSIS reporting.
Experience with ELT, Informatica, enterprise data warehouses, Cognos, Tableau, or similar reporting and data platforms.
Experience testing Medicaid, Medicare, pharmacy, payer, provider, or government healthcare technology platforms.
Experience validating healthcare claims, encounters, eligibility, enrollment, provider, or reporting data.
Working knowledge of Agile testing, release management, production readiness, and quality assurance governance.
Experience participating in peer reviews, structured walkthroughs, release readiness reviews, and lessons learned sessions.

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation and/or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $76,923 - $99,900.
