Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to take Relativity’s Legal Operations function to the next level of maturity in the Legal Ops lifecycle. The Senior Specialist & Lead AI Specialist, Legal Operations will:
Design, implement, and manage AI-powered contracting and legal workflows, translating Legal’s policies, risk tolerances, and negotiation practices into scalable, defensible systems across the Legal technology stack; and
Act as Legal’s innovation champion by identifying, piloting, and scaling tech first automations by partnering with external stakeholder systems to deliver seamless end-to-end workflows that reduce manual effort, increase consistency, and accelerate cycle time.
Support the day-to-day operations of Relativity’s in-house legal department by driving efficient, scalable legal processes that reduce risk and cycle time while enabling attorneys to focus on high value work.

Job Description and Requirements

What are the core duties of this role? 

  • Lead the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of AI-powered contracting and legal workflows by: 

  • Designing and governing AI enabled contracting playbooks that codify legal policies, clause standards, risk tolerances, escalation logic, and approval thresholds into machine readable decision frameworks, with ongoing version control and calibration. 

  • Architecting, testing, and deploying AI enabled legal workflows (including automated contract review, AI assisted metadata extraction, risk flagging, routing, and compliance validation) with defined human in the loop controls and defensibility standards.  

  • Establishing authoritative contract metadata, data quality standards, and governance processes to ensure accurate AI outputs, reliable analytics, and consistent downstream system integrations. 

  • Assisting with cross-functional implementation and integration efforts across Legal, IT, Security, Compliance, and Data teams, including AI tool evaluation, pilot programs, and production deployments within the Legal technology stack.  

  • Driving adoption and continuous improvement through structured change management, training, performance measurement, and reporting of AI workflow outcomes to Legal leadership. 

  • Enable Legal’s knowledge management function by ensuring legal content and contract data are current, well-governed, and easily accessible, with structured standards that enable effective search, reporting, and AI enabled insights across the Legal technology stack. 

  • Provide backup support to the Paralegal team by assisting with core legal and contract administration activities during periods of high volume, coverage gaps, or peak demand. Support includes contract intake, initiation, review coordination, approval routing, and record keeping, as well as maintaining accurate and complete matter and contract records in Legal systems. 

  • Provide backup support in the administration and support of Relativity’s CLM during periods of high volume, coverage gaps, or peak demand. Support includes assistance with contract lifecycle workflows, supporting users and the contract execution process, and assisting with tracking and reporting metrics related to quality, cycle time, and overall CLM performance. 

  • Implement scalable processes to optimize performance of the legal team. 

  • Assist in the development of company-wide and/or department specific training sessions to support the legal team’s processes and initiatives. 

  • Facilitate knowledge management within legal department and training for internal clients of the legal department. 

  • Provide administrative support for Relativity’s in-house legal department, as needed. 

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience working cross-functionally within a global team 

  • Experience with configuring or implementing AI workflow and contract review tools 

  • Experience managing contract tracking tools preferred 

Minumum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience preferred, ideally in a high-growth technology company or at a law firm, with experience in the contract field, contracts administration or legal operations 

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office, Ironclad, Docusign, and Salesforce 

  • Experience with testing and configuring Generative AI technology 

  • High attention to detail, demonstrated program and/or project management experience with the ability to collaborate effectively with other teams. 

  • Ability to take initiative and propose solutions to address technical and operational challenges and constraints. 

  • Tech is savvy and proficient with technology applications 

  • Solid time management and problem-solving skills, including the ability to think quickly and be resourceful. 

  • Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills 

  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and team skills 

Relativity is committed to competitive, fair, and equitable compensation practices.

This position is eligible for total compensation which includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus, and long-term incentives.

The expected salary range for this role is between following values:

$91,000 and $137,000

The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in this position.
