We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Supplier Development Engineer to join Shield AI, focusing on harness assemblies and electronic components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supplier development, and supply chain management within aerospace industry. This role is critical in enhancing supplier performance by solving supplier challenges that impact quality/on-time delivery/scaling, supporting the onboarding of suppliers to new designs, and delivering on our mission to deliver affordable and autonomous mass at scale.
Requried qualifications:
- A degree in electrical, industrial, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience leading new-product industrialization and project management across engineering teams and contract manufacturers.
- Strong working knowledge of wire harness and FPC/FFC assembly processes, including design rules for reliable production.
- Practical experience with PPAP and structured problem-solving tools, including RCCA, fishbone analysis, process mapping, and 5S.
- Direct experience improving supplier or contract-manufacturer quality, process capability, capacity, or production execution.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 50% to engage suppliers.
