Standard Template Labs is a stealth-mode, AI-native startup reimagining the future of IT Service and Configuration Management. Backed by leading investors, we're leveraging AI, graph-based architecture, and exceptional design to transform how enterprises manage and engage with their technology ecosystems.

About the Role

You will lead the design of an entirely new category of enterprise software—one where workflows are co-created with AI, interfaces adapt intelligently, and complex IT operations become intuitive, explorable, and automated.

We’re looking for someone who has mastered the fundamentals of UX and is excited to define what “good” looks like for AI-native enterprise UX in a world where traditional patterns are being rewritten.

Responsibilities

  • Lead UX strategy and vision for an AI-first enterprise product

  • Design intuitive, intelligent workflows that seamlessly blend human decision-making with AI assistance.

  • Translate complex technical concepts, data models, and IT processes into clear, elegant UX patterns.

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and end-to-end design flows for enterprise-grade software with consumer-grade simplicity.

  • Define interaction patterns for AI-driven experiences, including prompts, conversational flows, recommendations, and adaptive UI states.

  • Partner closely with founders, engineering, and product to shape product direction from 0→1.

  • Conduct user research and usability testing, synthesizing insights into actionable design decisions.

  • Advocate for user needs while balancing technical constraints and business priorities.

  • Build and maintain a scalable design system for an AI-native, multi-surface product environment.

  • Iterate rapidly in a high-velocity startup environment, embracing ambiguity and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of UX/Product Design experience, at a top enterprise SaaS company. Portfolio demonstrating exceptional interaction design, systems thinking, workflow design, and problem-solving for complex products

  • Mastery of Figma and modern prototyping tools (Framer, ProtoPie, Principle, etc.)

  • Deep familiarity with AI-powered products and emerging interaction patterns for LLM-driven interfaces.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale across disciplines.

  • Comfort operating in fast-paced environments and driving high-quality work under rapid iteration cycles.

  • Comfortable with rapid iteration in a fast-paced, high-velocity startup environment

  • Bonus: experience in service design, design research, information architecture, or systems modeling.

  • Background in IT operations, ITSM, DevOps, or complex enterprise domains is a plus.

What We Offer

  • Define the UX patterns of AI-first enterprise software

  • Work directly with founders in a high-growth startup

  • Competitive salary + equity

  • Full health, dental, and vision benefits

  • Work from our Flatiron District, Manhattan office alongside the founding team in a focused, collaborative environment. We're in-office five days a week, moving quickly and building together—with easy access to public transportation.

As an equal opportunity employer, we don’t tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind. Whether that’s based on race, ethnicity, age, gender identity, citizenship, religion, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy, veteran status or any other protected characteristic as outlined by federal, state or local laws. The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role at is: $150,000—$190,000 USD

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
