Overview

Microsoft’s SLED (State, Local and Education) ISV (Independent Software Vendor) Account Team Unit (ATU) partners with a nationwide portfolio of strategic software companies whose solutions extend Microsoft’s platform and help public sector and education customers achieve mission-critical outcomes. You will lead a high-impact organization at the intersection of customer transformation, partner innovation, and Microsoft’s AI platform, helping ISVs build, scale, and sell differentiated solutions across the SLED market.

As the SLED ISV Sales Director, you will lead Microsoft’s strategic engagement with software companies serving state and local government, education, and academic medical center customers across the United States. You will lead a team of account executives and technical strategists to accelerate cloud and AI transformation, grow revenue and consumption, deepen executive relationships, and expand joint market impact through integrated account planning, marketplace, co-sell, and partner-led solutions.

Leveraging a broad, multi-functional team across Microsoft, you will engage senior executives within ISV organizations and align their product, go-to-market, and growth strategies to Microsoft Azure, Data and AI, Security, Copilot, agents, and the broader cloud platform. You will establish a clear vision for the business, translate that vision into disciplined execution, and hold teams accountable for measurable customer, partner, and Microsoft outcomes.

With a proven history of leading high-performing sales teams, driving market share and revenue growth, building executive relationships, and collaborating across organizational boundaries, you will lead the team to execute against strategic account plans and create repeatable growth across the ISV ecosystem. This opportunity will allow you to deepen your industry and partner business acumen, expand your executive leadership impact, and shape how strategic ISVs bring trusted AI solutions to the SLED market.

  • Orchestrate across Microsoft sales, technical, engineering, partner, marketing, customer success, and industry teams to remove barriers, accelerate strategic opportunities, and deliver a consistent end-to-end experience for ISVs and shared customers.

  • Lead with empowerment and accountability by setting a compelling vision, coaching for excellence, addressing performance directly, and developing an inclusive, AI-first team that shares best practices and acts with speed, integrity, and customer focus.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
