Title: Mainframe SMP/E & ZOSMF Expert

Location: Remote

Type: Long Term Contract

Rated: $Open/hr.


Requirements🔹 Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with vulnerability management teams to support EZ CVE reporting
  • Define and finalize automation timelines for Patch Management
  • Develop patch response models for ad-hoc and immediate escalation scenarios
  • Establish daily, weekly, and monthly patching and validation cadence
  • Review CVE package stability and improve reporting/dashboard capabilities
  • Enable SMP/E processes, define baseline datasets, and integrate with vulnerability scanning tools
  • Develop AI-driven prompts and automation for testing, RFB validation, and impact analysis
  • Provide advisory and implementation support for secure and stable patch deployment
🎯 Must-Have Skills
  • 10–15 years of strong hands-on SMP/E experience
  • z/OSMF and REST API experience, particularly the Software Management component
  • Git and USS/OMVS skills
  • Experience installing and maintaining z/OS and ISV software
  • Excellent software testing skills, including functionality, robustness, and performance testing
  • Strong Python and REXX scripting experience
  • Working knowledge of IBM software and mainframe ISV software customization
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong overall IT experience
