Lead the data engineering team to deliver high-quality ETL pipelines and dashboards, driving collaboration and innovation while ensuring team growth.
Sinclair Digital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Development Manager to lead and empower our talented data engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the successful delivery of high-quality ETL pipelines, dashboards, AI agents, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment, and ensuring the continuous growth and development of your team members. You will leverage your technical expertise, leadership skills, and agile management experience to guide the team towards achieving ambitious goals and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of data software engineers, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing environment
- Guide the creation of reliable data pipelines, user segments, and manage data governance for sensitive data and appropriate access levels
- Manage the entire software development lifecycle, from project planning to deployment and maintenance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data requirements to needed to develop valued business insights
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth, while continuing to coach and mentor the engineering team
- Manage the data engineering team to adhere to standard software development lifecycle and maintain high coding standards
- Stay current with the latest data technology innovations, tools, and best practice
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of software development experience in a management role
- Familiarity with the design and development of item tuning, balancing and customer retention
- Experience as a Software Development Manager or similar leadership role
- 5+ years of experience in GCP, Databricks and GA4 or equivalent experience, with a focus on effective ETL pipelines data access management
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of developers to deliver committed goals
- Experience in delivering across multiple platforms simultaneously
- Experience developing ETL pipelines, data views, dashboards and agents in Databricks
- Experience developing dimension outlines for GA4 to meet telemetry needs.
- Experience managing governance and access for sensitive financial and PI data.
- Knowledge of email platforms like Salesforce Marketing cloud and creating user segments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail

The base salary compensation range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
