About the Role:
As a Software Engineer Associate on the VAS Product Development team, you will play a crucial role in building software solutions that leverage data to deliver innovative value-added services in the payments space. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact applications in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be involved in all aspects of software development, from designing new solutions to refactoring existing functionality, always focusing on improving efficiency and delivering value to customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Design and build distributed applications using emerging technologies, focusing on innovative value-added services in the payments industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, Software Engineers) to develop data-driven solutions that meet business needs.
  • Lead end-to-end development efforts to deliver high-quality solutions on time, aligning with architectural vision and standards.
  • Work closely with senior technical staff and Project Managers to identify and manage project risks, track progress, and ensure successful delivery.
  • Present technical solutions and features in business terms, ensuring effective communication of progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the software architecture and drive improvements in code performance, maintainability, and scalability.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and hands-on experience with Spring and Hibernate frameworks.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS technologies such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.
  • Experience with RESTful APIsJSON, and web service standards.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and tools like GITMavenJenkins, and JUnit.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design scalable, high-performance software solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex ideas and collaborate with team members.
  • A proactive, self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 105,800.00 to 149,550.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
