As a key member of a diverse and dynamic engineering team, you will build and scale applications, data platforms, and frameworks that support and optimize Chewy's fulfillment center operations. The base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $190,000.00.

What You'll Do:
- Design, and develop large-scale distributed systems with large volumes of data focusing on scalability, latency, and fault tolerance.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following guidelines in software engineering. Ensure that all code is well-documented and undergoes rigorous peer review.
- Advocate for and implement software engineering procedures that enable automated testing, version control and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
- Partner with machine learning engineers to implement machine learning workflows (including data preprocessing, model training, and deployment) using AWS cloud (such as Sagemaker).
- Leverage and champion operational excellence that enable system observability and alarming. Continuously measure system availability and optimize system performance
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including scientists, product managers, and operations customers, to deliver effective solutions that meet business objectives.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Engineering or related field) or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Ability to program in Java, Python, or other related modern programming language
- Understanding of CI/CD pipeline including containerization, configuration management, and deployment
- Experience leading the design (data structures, algorithms, performance, reliability, and scalability) and development of new software programs
- Experience with cloud native technology stacks such as AWS, Azure, GCP
- Ability to simultaneously support multiple high priority projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Bonus:
- Experience developing and maintaining end-to-end customer-facing web applications.
- Experience with Data platform, Data lake, Lakehouse and Machine Learning pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools and proven ability to apply AI to drive productivity.
The base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $190,000.00.
- The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
