Job Description:

At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we've tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money— we're here to move our global customers forward.
We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that's you and you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career—we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders.

About the Role:

Marketing agencies, media partners, consultancies, and contingent labor suppliers support a broad set of teams across Remitly, and the commercial decisions in that portfolio move quickly and carry weight. As a Sourcing Manager on the Procurement team, you will lead it end to end. You will run competitive sourcing events, negotiate and renegotiate commercial terms. You will partner with Marketing, Legal, and Finance leaders to make sure every commitment we make is working as hard as it can.

This is an individual contributor role based in Seattle, reporting to the Global head of Procurement.

You Will:

  • Lead the Marketing and Professional Services sourcing portfolio, delivering an annual savings and cost-avoidance target across agency, media, consulting, and contingent labor spend.
  • Build the sourcing playbook for these categories — intake and evaluation, RFP templates, bid frameworks, negotiation strategy, and contract lifecycle workflow — and adoption of it across the business.
  • Be commercial partner to Marketing and functional leaders. Join their planning early enough to shape demand and scope rather than hand a signed decision. Bring market intelligence and benchmarks that change what they buy.

You Have:

  • 3–5 years of experience in strategic procurement, or category management, with direct ownership of marketing, media, or professional services spend.
  • Experience leading competitive sourcing events and negotiating master agreements, SOWs, and renewals to closure, working with Legal on commercial terms.
  • Fluency with agency and services commercial models is important. These models include retainer vs. project vs. performance fees, rate cards, media commissions, and pass-through costs. Furthermore, it is necessary to build cost models that expose where value actually sits.
  • Strong analytical and AI skills are important. You can pull apart spend data, build a should-cost or total-cost-of-ownership model, and use it to defend a recommendation to a skeptical team member.
  • Demonstrated experience applying AI to bring more impact.
  • Working knowledge of procurement and CLM tooling (e.g., Coupa, Ironclad) and of third-party risk and compliance requirements in a regulated industry.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
