Sr. Accountant, Corporate Accounting and Reporting

Job Summary:
Senior accountants are responsible for managing and overseeing various accounting and financial and reporting functions, including financial statement preparation, preparing complex journal entries and reconciliations. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing accounting guidance to other areas of the business.

Essential Functions:

• The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned. 
• Administration of the Account Reconciliation Manager (account reconciliation system) for the business – This includes ensuring the database is current (accounts, preparers, reviewers, etc.), monitoring the status of reconciliations, publishing reports, and performing user acceptance testing. It also includes performing review of account reconciliations.
• Perform various functions supporting regulatory reporting (Supplemental Health Care Exhibit, Medical Loss Ratio and Pharmacy reporting), including research, reconciliation and submitting final reporting. It also includes administering and obtaining attestations from MLR process owners.
• Coordinating with the Legal Department on the allocation and journal entries for legal settlements based on nature of dispute and related financial activity

Required Qualificaitons: 
5+ years related work experience with a minimum 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role 
Related Bachelor's degree required Accounting or Finance 
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations 
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities 
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel 
Experience with accounting software and systems 
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualification: 
CPA designation, Public accounting experience, Health Insurance Experience, Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

General Physical Demands:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Must be able to travel to multiple locations for work (i.e. travel to attend meetings, events, conferences). Occasionally

Annualized Salary Range: $84,500 - $137,300
Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $84,500 - $105,600
Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
