Position Summary: Responsible for managing the operations, implementation, and monitoring of physical and virtual servers in the cloud as well as in our data centers, and coordination with IT counterparts to assist with information security, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes. Must apply professional knowledge in the execution of assigned duties and responsibilities as well as may manage professional staff. The role usually has independence and discretion in decisions that affects his/her own work, as well as influence over the work of others. This position requires interpretation of existing programs or conceptual startup at programs into actionable operations or activities.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists in the design and execution for moving on-premises infrastructure/server workloads, as well as applications and data to Microsoft Azure
  • Participate in existing and new infrastructure solution evaluations
  • Investigates and tests new cloud technologies to meet or exceed user expectations
  • Provide Cloud user management, security, capacity, monitoring and configuring app development tools
  • PowerShell scripting, and/or Azure PowerShell
  • Experience planning and implementing an Organizational Unit (OU) structure, as well as corresponding Group Policy configuration
  • Experience w/Azure Active Directory, O365 and Synchronization of entities between On-Premises and Cloud.
  • Migrate on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Azure cloud
  • Configure Microsoft Azure monitoring and alerts for cloud resource availability
  • Manage cloud-based Windows and Linux virtual servers
  • Azure Active Directory (AADDS) & Group Policy
  • Azure Virtual Machines (create/maintain)
  • Azure Networking Fundamentals (virtual networks/subnets, VPN, etc.)
  • Azure Storage Management (storage account, Azure file share, etc.)
  • Azure Resource Group Management
  • Azure Role Assignment Management
  • Azure App Service Management
  • Participates in build-out and operation of the physical / virtual server environment
  • Works with teams for 24x7 monitoring and response to immediate threats and vulnerabilities regarding the safety of Selene Finance assets
  • Responsible for incident handling and troubleshooting
  • Reviews new vulnerabilities and effect on corporate servers and systems
  • Assists Security Incidence Response Team activities
  • Reviews, develops, and implements sustainable secure operational processes for server and systems processes
  • Adheres to Company policies and outside regulations affecting the Company
  • Responsible for day-to-day operational execution and contributes to broader planning within area of expertise
  • Collaborates with network, storage, and virtual server staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of server systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes
  • Develops maintenance schedules for systems equipment
  • Assists in design and implementation of long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining corporate systems and software
  • Gauges the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develops and implements strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Works on server audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies

Education/Experience:

  • Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) preferred. Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. Generally, requires 5+ years of experience in specialized training and education (such as an advanced degree, certification, or appropriate combination of education and experience). Usually requires advanced training and education in order to develop and implement concepts, recommendations and creative solutions to problems.
  • Must have solid understanding of information technology and information security, including firewalls, virtual private networks, penetration testing, and other security devices.
  • 2+ years of experience with Server engineering (specific focus on building and supporting server and enterprise storage solutions preferred); NetApp experience a plus.
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of Tier One Server hardware
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of Windows Server technology, such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SCCM, SQL, Exchange, SharePoint, and CITRIX
  • Experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware and Citrix)
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure (setup, configuration, design and support)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly as it relates to network, infrastructure, and systems design and support
  • Able to view operations from a customer perspective
  • Ability to use independent judgment and work under minimal supervision is required
  • Security Engineering Management experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of IDS and firewall logging
  • Knowledge of Unix, Windows, networking components
  • Detailed understanding of internet protocols
  • Knowledge of PKI, PGP and digital certificates
  • Vendor Management experience
  • Audit experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, security standards and compliance issues (FFIEC guidelines, Sarbanes Oxley, GLBA, ISO 17799, Cobit V4.0, and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)
  • Proficient in other IT control areas (i.e., change management, SDLC, Operations)

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong working knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, Microsoft Azure.

Certificates and Licenses:
Azure Certification a plus

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position may have direct reports with subordinate supervisory roles of professional staff, or if no direct reports, may manage a larger specialized function or multiple larger functions. The role may also be an external facing function.
