PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $88,000.00-$107,500.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $68,300.00 - $127,500.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

In the Sr Business Services Specialist role, you’ll be at the center of how BECU supports and grows relationships with business members across our Neighborhood Branch network. You’ll elevate how we serve by connecting members to the right solutions at the right time—whether that’s helping them expand, manage cash flow, or plan for the future.

As a trusted advisor and primary point of contact, you’ll build meaningful relationships that go beyond transactions. You’ll partner closely with branch teams, coaching and empowering them to identify opportunities while you lead the way on more complex business lending and relationship strategies.

***This role is responsible for maintaining regular in-branch presence in our Everett, Lake Stevens, Marysville, Mill Creek, Monroe, Seattle Hill Rd, and Smokey Point Neighborhood Financial Centers.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Build Strong Business Relationships: You’ll develop and nurture relationships with key business members, serving as their trusted advisor and go-to resource for products, services, and strategic guidance.
  • Lead Proactive Outreach & Growth: You’ll create and execute outbound calling strategies to onboard new members, deepen existing relationships, and uncover opportunities across banking, lending, and investment needs.
  • Drive Business Lending Opportunities: You’ll identify, structure, and process business lending requests—including term loans, lines of credit, vehicle loans, credit cards, and commercial real estate up to $250K.
  • Coach and Elevate Branch Teams: You’ll mentor branch staff and leaders to confidently identify business opportunities, strengthen referral behaviors, and deliver exceptional service to business members.
  • Serve as a Business Services Expert: You’ll act as the subject matter expert for assigned branches, providing guidance on products, systems, processes, and updates to ensure teams stay informed and effective.
  • Generate and Expand New Business: You’ll actively prospect through cold calling, community networking, centers of influence, and internal referrals to grow BECU’s Business Services portfolio.
  • Strengthen Referral Partnerships: You’ll build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners to increase opportunities for cross-selling merchant services, payroll, and lending solutions.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: You’ll partner with Relationship Managers and other business lines to support joint calls, account servicing, and coordinated member strategies.
  • Analyze and Deliver Value: You’ll assess business financials, identify needs, and recommend solutions that deliver value for members while supporting BECU’s growth objectives.
  • Stay Informed and Strategic: You’ll keep current on industry trends, local real estate developments, and market dynamics to provide relevant, forward-thinking insights to members.
  • Resolve Member Needs Effectively: You’ll support staff and members in resolving concerns or escalations, ensuring a seamless and positive experience.
  • Represent BECU in the Community: You’ll actively participate in community events and organizations, strengthening BECU’s presence and building meaningful connections.
  • Track and Report Performance: You’ll provide regular reporting on loan production, goal progress, and team insights to support transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement: You’ll look for ways to enhance processes, elevate service quality, and contribute to BECU’s overall success.
  • Communicate and Collaborate Effectively: You’ll maintain strong communication across teams to ensure alignment and progress toward shared goals.
  • Maintain Regional Branch Presence: You’ll frequently travel by car across an assigned territory typically spanning 4–6 cities.
  • Support Additional Priorities: You’ll take on other responsibilities as needed to support team success and organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics or equivalent work or educational experience.
  • Five years of experience in business banking sales, proven consultative outside sales in financial services, business-to-business sales, and/or consistent success as a BECU Business Specialist.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Effective relationship management, problem resolution and customer service skills.
  • Strong sales, prospecting and follow-up skills,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure issues are handled in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Proficient in Commercial and Industrial, Commercial Real Estate, and SBA lending for small to mid-size businesses.
  • Ability to contribute both independently and as a team member, in a multiple priority, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to present a professional image when dealing with members, co-workers, management, external partners and the business community.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretionary judgment.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, conditions and trends of Business Services clients.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Excellent time management skills. Ability to adapt to evolving work priorities.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a team environment.
  • Ability to use discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.
  • Ability to adapt to change within working responsibilities, be it internal, market or regulatory driven.
