Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Consultant - Organizational Design to support a Fortune 100 client through a strategic organizational design and research initiative. This consultant will lead hands-on internal and external research efforts to identify opportunities for organizational optimization, translate research findings into actionable recommendations, and develop a roadmap for implementation. The ideal candidate has experience working with large, complex Fortune 100 organizations and has successfully led organizational design, strategy, and transformation initiatives from research through implementation planning. This is an exciting 4-6 month organizational design and research initiative (extensions may be possible). This role will conduct on-site visits in order to: collect employee feedback, perform focus groups, analyze insights and then prepare recommendations on organizational development changes and employee satisfaction. This will include visiting dispersed US based client locations over a 4-5 week period, after 2 weeks of hands on learning client requirements, then remote work in preparing recommendations and executive readouts. All candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship or visa transfers. Please note that we do not work C2C.

Responsibilities

·       Design and execute comprehensive internal and external research studies to inform organizational design and optimization strategies.

·       Develop research methodologies, including focus groups, stakeholder interviews, surveys, market research, benchmarking, and other qualitative and quantitative research approaches.

·       Conduct hands-on research and facilitate conversations with stakeholders across multiple organizational levels and local markets.

·       Analyze and synthesize research findings to identify organizational trends, opportunities, gaps, and improvement areas.

·       Develop ROI and business impact analyses to evaluate potential organizational changes and recommendations.

·       Translate research findings into clear, actionable organizational design recommendations.

·       Develop strategic roadmaps that connect research findings and recommendations to practical implementation.

·       Create executive-ready presentations, reports, documentation, and other deliverables to communicate findings and recommendations.

·       Conduct readouts and presentations with stakeholders at all levels, including senior and executive leadership.

·       Partner with client stakeholders to align research findings with broader business objectives and organizational strategy.

·       Support the transition from strategy and design into potential implementation activities during a subsequent phase of the engagement.

Requirements

·       Demonstrated experience supporting large Fortune 100 organizations in organizational research, organizational design, organizational effectiveness, strategy, transformation, or related consulting engagements.

·       Hands-on experience designing and conducting internal and external research studies.

·       Experience with focus groups, stakeholder interviews, organizational assessments, benchmarking, and research-driven strategy development.

·       Proven ability to take an engagement from research → analysis → recommendations → roadmap → implementation planning.

·       Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate complex findings into practical business recommendations.

·       Exceptional written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.

·       Stellar PowerPoint and Excel capabilities, with the ability to create polished, data-driven executive presentations and analyses.

·       Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate findings and develop ROI/business impact analyses.

·       Ability to independently manage multiple workstreams and deliver high-quality work in a consulting environment.

·       Experience presenting findings and recommendations to audiences at all levels of an organization.

Education/Certifications

·       Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Human Resources, Psychology, Communications or Business.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
